I am so glad I have seen the main forum and even made a post or two. But to find on with friends that are going through the beginning as I am has been a huge relief! I go through moments of being scared almost right out of the surgery. I am not scared of making changes however I am scared of complications/death! I know that I have worked for over a year to get to this point--I am guessing that these pre-sugery jitters are normal! Oh and by the way this liquid protein pre op diet STINKS!!! LOL All worth it though!

My surgery was monday. I had gastric bypass or RNY. I had to do the 2 week liquid protein diet also and it was beyond sucky! Since surgery I have not had one time i was hungary. in fact, I worry that I can't eat enough or drink enough to get my water and protein in.
I got so jittery that i almost cancelled surgery the four days prior but I am so glad I put them aside. My husband told me to remember the pre-wedding jitters. Both events were something i wanted but represented a major life long change. Made sense to me and I went thru with it.

Good luck with the rest of your liquid diet. it will be over before you know it.

Awwww you are the greatest!  Telling me what you have gone through really helps me to prepare!  I am so ready for the surgery to be over and to move on with my life--new life that is!  I am ready to be able to run with my kiddos and not be out of breath-- I am ready to ride rollar coaster rides with them with no fear of fitting in the seat!  I am ready!  4 days and counting~

Your sugery is 1 day before me on Wednesday.  Talk about jitters, I had all out massive panic. ( I know this now)  For two weeks , several days after starting a self imposed LD, I got this awful lump in my throat, and feeling in my chest. I swore it was reflux due to change in diet going from so carby to mostly protein. Well, I suffered through that non stop for 2 weeks and on Thursday took two Xanax- BAM , the feeling was gone.  I chalk that feeling up to being incredibly anxious about surgery, about whether or not I'll keep off the 10 pounds I've lost from now til Surgery.  My surgeon required me to lose 10, but keeping it off is really a struggle.  I was having major 2nd thoughts, but thankfully TONS of post ops have reassured me, so I'm feeling much calmer these days.

You'll do great!

PS- I too am SO thankful for this forum. How scary to go through what we're doing without.
