How long from first appt with surgeon to surgery?

Just curious what the average timeframe is for people in NH when you meet the surgeon for the first time to actually having the surgery done?  Thanks!

Not in NH, in CA.  I had my first md appt. 8-20-08 and my surgery is scheduled for 11-25.

I'mnot in NH either, but I had my consult on Oct 28th and my surgery is on Nov 19th. They could have done it as early as Nov 13th. 

It actually depends on your insurance company.  Not the state you live in.  I originally saw my surgeon in August and my surgery is scheduled for Dec. 11.  4 Months!  Many insurance companies have criteria you have to meet before they will approve the surgery.  Aetna is awful.  I actually wanted to have The Sleeve, but the only one they will pay for is the Gastric Bypass which is a more invasive surgery, so I'm going with that one.
