For those who did or are doing a Liquid Diet

I started a mainly liquid diet last Sunday in order to lose the required 10lbs before surgery that my surgon requires.  I noticed that I have this feeling in my throat/upper chest, which I'm wondering if it's heartburn due to change of diet. I've been on  Prilosec for years, but wonder if it's just not working anymore.  I've tried Tums and Mylanta, doesn't seem to help.  It's almost like a lump in my throat, like if I could just swallow hard enough or maybe even burp, it would feel better.

Has anyone else felt something like this? I wonder if it is because of the liquid diet/high protein diet. (My body is so used to massive carbs)

I don't have any feeling in my throat, but my stomach feels bloated, and full of water, kind of jiggly.. I would love some saltines, but no heartburn.  I also have been extra week for 2-3 days, had to have someone drive me home from work.

I get that feeling sometimes. I honestly think it's hunger. Not "I'm starving and could eat my arm" starving, but  just begining to get hungry.

However, I don't have any heartburn issues, so I'm not sure.

My surgery is November 21 and I started my Optifast on Friday.  My mouth is constantly dry.  I have a horrible taste as well.  I actually ate 1/2 a Triscuit cracker and felt guilty.  The vanilla is the hardest for me to get down and this morning I actually gagged.  I am quite surprised by all this.  I didn't imagine this would bother me in the least!   I have tried chewing gum, having a sugar-free cough drop.....nothing seems to work.  Any suggestions?
