Rash after surgery

Hi this is my first post, hello to everyone.  I had the Lap Band put in one week ago and four days after surgery I have broken out in hives all over.  I am on the same pain killers that I was on before surgery so I am sure it is not that.  I have seen the allergist who claims it could be any number of things given to me during surgery.  I am very concerned that my body is rejecting the band.  Has anyone ever had this problem?  I have already lost 10 lbs from my pre surgical weight and do not want to have it removed!!  I could do without the horrible itching though.

Your reaction is quite possibly from the anesthesia.  It usually take a couple of weeks for the anesthesia to leave your system.   Of course, call your Dr. and let them know.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.  I have followed up with my doctor and the hives are nearly gone.  I will have allergy testing done to make sure that I don't get that medication again.
