Why did I do it?

Sheri,
I am there with you.  I haven't looked at it either.  My surgery is on Thursday (11/6) and like you I may look at it when I am done, but maybe not. On a similar note my passion is scuba diving and I refuse to watch the movie of the two that don't survive out at sea.  I would hate to lose my passion and I would hate to have those thoughts in my head when i am out diving. I may be an Ostrich with my head in the sand, but sometimes its nice to be an Ostrich I guess. I am calm about my surgery and I plan to stay that way.

I remember glancing at the page right before my surgery.  For me it was about becoming healthy. They should have a page listing how many lifes the surgery has saved.  How many relationships it has saved and how many people get to see the real us. The happy, confident and healthy people we are because of the surgery. I know it is scary but I can tell you that even though it was hard, it has been the best  2 weeks in years. I have hope, more energy, and feel and look great.  Follow your doctors orders and you will be just fine. Good luck!

I looked at the darn thing too.  But I noticed that there were many folks who died years after their surgery and had a different life because of it.  Of course I think of the ones who died from surgery or complications, but I have to try.  I trust my surgeon and the hospital I'll be in.
