Eating out of control!

Hey, Darlene!  If we gain on ounce before surgery HE WILL NOT DO IT!  I have not been on the scales and I am scared!  Been eating everything!  My PATS are on November 14th so I have until them to lose whatever I may have gained.  It was about 7 pounds but like I said, I have not been on the scales!  I have a 10 day liquid diet prior.

I was actually so freaked out about my weight gain I called the clinic I'm going to and asked them. They told me it wouldn't matter since my BMI is so high. They'll still have to wait till they're in there to determine if they need to go open. If they can see everything safely, they can proceed as planned.
What a relief.

So are you having open or closed?  Or do you not know yet?  Mine is open because I have a 59.0 BMI!

I think I'm having it lap, but not sure.  I know I have to give permission to go open if they can't see anything.  The MD said my liver felt small, so who knows.  My BMI is about 52 so I'm sure that will play a factor as well.

Lap was not even an option with my Doc.  2 reasons --- he has just learned how to do RNY via lap and my BMI...so if I were smaller he would do lap but he just wanted to be safe.  Fine with me.  Not thrilled with the huge scar idea but I will survive...won't be able to wear my bikini next summer!  LOL!

This body will NEVER see a bikini!  I will have so much sagging skin and the scars...oh my!  My goal is to get down to a healthy weight.  :-)

OH YEAH!! I am having "last suppers and breakfasts and lunches" too. I keep thinking,"Well this is the last time I can eat this". So I eat and eat, and eat.....you get the picture and it is not pretty. I guess it is just natural. I am a stree eater and I am definately stressed. My surgery is Nov.4th.

Well it's nice to know we are all on the same page. I did start cutting out cokes as of yesterday. I love to drink them but I know that I can't cut everything at once so I will take it one step at a time. I can't wait! I know I keep saying that but I am sooooooooooooo excited that I will be able to control my eating better once I have the surgery. Life is getting better every day!

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!

I think most of us can "feel your pain"! :)

My DR has me on a 28 day Medifast diet, and while I know it is for my health and a safer surgery, it does seem a little like torture. LOL

I started my diet on Sunday, so Saturday was a "last supper" day for me.

Now that I am on Day 3 of the diet, my mind has stopped freaking out so much about the lack of snacks, binges and massive meals it has been used to for the last 10 years.

I think it's ok for us to have a little trouble letting go, as long as we keep the big picture in mind.

Good luck to you on surgery day!
