I just got my PAT info and my Post Op date in the mail today.  It is feeling more real each day!  :-)  No approval from insurance yet but there really should be no problem.  :-)

I was a lucky girl then, cause I didnt have to have a stress test or the sleep test, just the tests that come with PATs. EKG, ultrasound of galbladder, etc.!

1.  Are you telling people that you are having the surgery?
I'm telling people that matter to me. Close friends and family mostly.

2.  Do you feel like you need to say goodbye to any foods?
I've been trying to say goodbye to Taco Bell..it's a hard break up and i can't wait for my knigh in shining armor gastric bypass to come and carry me away from the evil Taco Bell. lol

3.  Was your approval process smooth?
OH MY GOODNESS...i've heard horror stories of people trying to get approved. My insurance company approved me in THREE days. Lightning fast...i was so shocked when my surgeons office called so quickly.

4.  Does it feel real yet?
I'm one of those people that when i want something really bad i start to get anxiety and begin to think about why it won't happen. I've begun that with my surgery. I keep thinking something will happen and i won't be able to get my surg...i don't know why? Its just a weird anxiety I have. I know it won't feel real for me until after my medical clearance and my pre-op appt on oct 23rd....then it will be incredibly real when i wake up the morning of the third!!

My only problem will be rib night (Mon)
Meet you after my surgery on the 5th - I have had nightmares that my tests will somehow go wrong and they won't go thru with it.   Horrible!!
39 days to go

Katie I am the exact same way with creating anxiety.  I am actually making my life sooo busy right now so that I don't think about the surgery at all.

1.  Are you telling people that you are having the surgery?
I'm telling people that are important to me...Very close friends and (some) family members.

2.  Do you feel like you need to say goodbye to any foods?
Not really...maybe "see ya later"..."GoodBye" is so final

3.  Was your approval process smooth?
No Complaints...could have been better but could have been worse...
I saw my surgeon on Wed., Sept. 3rd and three weeks later...on Wed., Sept. 24th I had my letter of approval from the Ins. Co...and yesterday I rec'd. my letter from the surgeon's office with my date and time for surgery as well as appt's for 2 & 6 week post-op visits...the whole process has been 5 months (minus 2 days)...

 4.  Does it feel real yet?
More so now that I have a date and a time...and a letter of approval from the Ins. Co.
