I, too, am a single mom. Never married-2 DD adopted. I chose the best surgeon I could find so I could have the peace of mind that I could return to my girls and live a happy and productive life with them.

Got my surgery date - Thurs 11/15 - now I'm getting nervous.
I guess that's normal though, congratz to everyone, may we all have speedy recoveries.

I chose RNY because it is covered by the Ontario government and I am a student and couldn't afford lap band! Basically, that is why..

Lucky for you that your date is with in reach. Good luck to you too. Before you know it it will be all over and your house will be all nice an organized, life will fall into place while the fat just melts away. Good for you and again, good luck. I am still waiting to go to my orientation and decide which kind of surgery to get. I am so confused at this point. Which is safer, more effective, better, etc. Any suggestions out there? Any warnings?
