Topic: EGD yesterday for sugery 11.15.07
Hi-have any of you had to have an EGD before sugery? I had one yesterday even though I have NO complaints of heartburn/acid reflux/GERD or any stomach problems. The doctor found some gastric erosion and now they are telling me it may delay my surgery...I can't afford to wait any longer...I am paying COBRA right now just so I can have the surgery.
Has anyone else gone through this? Any of you use Dr. Robert Marvin @ OSS in Houston?

I'm so sorry! Tomorrow is my sugery and I've been really watching who and what I'm touching for the last couple of weeks, and washing extra-often! Normally, I'm not a germ-o-phobe at all...but I DID NOT want to get sick right before surgery.
I'll be praying for you to get well soon...luckily you've got a bit before your surgery, you should be well by then!

It is another month and time for us to meet and see how we are all doing. The meetings have various purposes. Some of us catch up with old friends; others seek advice from others that have had weight loss surgery and newbies look for advice from those that have had surgery. Who else better understands you than another person that had weight loss surgery?

Oh i'm so sorry, i know exactley what you're going through. my surgery is tomorrow and i've been sick for a week. I felt great yesterday when i met with the surgeon, told him i had a cold but was feeling better, they did a chest xray to rule out pneomonia and said all should be fine. Today, i woke up feeling horrible. bad cough, i think it may be from the colon cleanse stuff though because i keep tasting it when i cough. i'm going to rest and load up on fluids the rest of the day and see where i'm at later today. i swear the all liquids and no viatamins or medicines did me in. I pray i don't have to have surgery cancelled this late in the game. get as much rest as you can, but if it's a virus all you can really do is wait it out. i'll be praying for you.

Hi yall!!! Im also having my surgery on the 16th. Have an appt with the nutritionist today and my pre-op test on the 8th. Im ready, but still afriad.. Good luck to yall & hope to talk to ya later ...

my name is sandy angel and i have the same date as you . where are you haveing yours done? i am going to postfalls idaho dr. pennings. i have ben on the optifast diet for a month had to loose 30 lbs. yikeeeeessss! ive lost 20 and i am starving but i already feel so much better. i am so excited . good luck to you.

Well good luck with that Cassandra. I'm on my way to Michigan right now to go for my patts. It's a hell of a long drive..9-10 hours or so. Take care and let me know how your surgry turns out ok so we can compare notes.
