I'm wondering why you applied for a doctor in Bloomfield Hills - was there a specific reason for choosing that doctor?
I looked up your location on Google Maps and it looks like Traverse City is the most logical location for you. Bloomfield Hills is an additional 4 hour drive south.
I've heard good things about the clinic in Traverse City - so you should be in good hands.

PS - Traverse is one of my FAVORITE cities in all of Michigan. Hopefully you'll be able to schedule some extra time while you're there for your appointments to do some site seeing. The bay is beautiful!

Just keep your thoughts positive and stay true to the diet the Dr. gives you. I had get some weight off b 4 I could have surgery as well. I did it and I am 10 months post op! It will all work in your favor. At least you have been approved and you know for a fact you will have this surgery. I know you can do it. But, YOU have to know you can do it. It is not easy, if it was, none of us would need this surgery right?? I cant stand it when people say " you can do it if you really wanted to". We all really want to but it is hard. And, of course we can do it, but it is a strugglle. But, it is struggle well worth it. I am rooting for you girl!! Please keep me posted.

I live in Dallas and I was wondering if anyone knows of any support groups that are "open" to anyone who has the surgery?? I go to the one at my Dr.'s office but I am looking for something that is at least twice a month.The one I attend is only once a month.

I am scheduled to have lapband surgery on Nov 19th. at 7:30 am. I'm excited and scared at the same time.

Hi, Jen - Well, I'm scheduled for lap RNY on November 27 so if that ends up being your "day" we'll be going through it at the same time! I can understand your husband wanting to be home so he could be there with you, but if you're like me you'd rather have the surgery sooner!! LOL Good luck with whatever date you end up with!

I can understand how you feel. I thought I might be cancelled but I am on the other side. Do your homework and if you still want it go for it. Get the support you need and deserve. My husband was scare for me but he told me if this is what I want he would be there for me. He has been a great caregiver since the surgery. Do not give up and we will see you on the losser side.
