I was lucky to get help from my family, but luckily after insurance is filed and paid, I will be getting it refunded cause my out of pocket for this year was already met. I had to pay a 'deposit' to hold my surgery date. $400 to surgeon and $200 to assistant. This is in addition to the $200 'processing fee' for getting the insurance approval. Have you checked into a loan from a bank? Like a signature loan or something you can put up as collateral?

Remain strong............don't give up or give in to temptation. You will make it. Is your Dr letting you have any protein in the form of meat? Chicken and my George Foreman are my best friend. Even before I started this journey, I cut out carbs and ate mostly protein and it is allowing me to loose weight. I am so sorry to hear so many people have long pre-surgery liquid diets. Well, I got a call from the surgeon's office this morning advising me that my surgery has to be moved from 11/27 to 12/6 due to some scheduling problems with the OR. What a bummer!! But I know that all things happen for a reason so I'm not going to let this get me down. It's just 9 days later than I'd planned!! I'll be heading toward that loser's bench before too long...just not as soon as I'd like! ~Nancy~
