Topic: surgery postponed
I do have to appologize that I haven't kept everyone up to date, my surgery has been postponed for the time being until after the first of the year. It was originally scheduled for nov 20th I believe. My place of employment had originally approved my leave before thinking things threw and realizing that I would miss the 1st week of peek so I was asked if I could postpone it, they have been good to me there so I agreed. Im waiting to hear the new surgery date, but know that it will be some time between Jan 6 and Feb 23 cuz that is when the insurance approval runs out so it is not to far off! and at least I can get threw the holidays being able to eat more then pudding and jello!!

Topic: RE: Fibromyalgia and RNY Surgery
Hi Connie,
I also have severe firbomyalgia and have my Lap RNY scheduled for December 5th at Parkwest in Knoxville with Dr. Stephen Boyce. Along with the fibro I have sleep apena {use C-PAP} diabietes, some arthritis and have been treated with large amounts of steriods over the last ten years. I have Systemic Lupus but it has been in a remissive state for over five years now. Considering all my health issues I am pretty anxious about the surgery. I have read so many stories on OH that have helped me learn more info for pre and post-op questions. I too would love to hear from others who have had this surgery and how it has affected their fibro either for the good or even adversely. I just feel like I'd cope better with situations post-op the better informed I am. Do you have a surgery date, and if so, when? I would love to hear form you. We simply must believe that the surgery will give us a better quality of life than we now have. Keep the faith and let me hear from you.

Topic: November Meeting Canceled
FYI, the November meeting of the Tri-County WLS Group that meets at the SMECO Building in Waldorf has been canceled due to the fact that SMECO is closing building at 5 PM on November 21st (our night to meet)... and the night before Thanksgiving. But, EVERYONE is invited to our Christmas party on December 1st at 5:30 PM (just lemme know if you want more info). We have always had a great time and pre and post participants are welcomed... and your families are too!
The Christmas party is taking the place of our december meeting so we won't be together again until January 16th. I'm very excited to tell everyone that we have a behavioral therapist coming to speak to us that evening. She plans on talking about "head-hunger" issues (which we all found out that surgery doesn't do anything for the "head!") So, everyone is invited to this fascinating evening...
Have a "thankful" Thanksgiving...!

I just home from the hospital (and short stay at my parents') so just saw your message. But hope all went well with surgery and that you're feeling better already.
