Topic: RE: hey all the early nov Surgery Friends how is everyone doing
Hi Cathy -
I posted a thread yesterday asking how the early november losers were doing. GTMA, huh?
So far I've lost 26 pounds and am tolerating all foods just fine. I just had my 2-week follow up today (although it was early) and got my new eating plan. So glad to be adding a few semi-solid foods and get off the full liquid phase. For lunch I had some refried beans, cheese and a bit of taco sauce -- SO yummy! Also got my stitches & staples out this morning ... they were really starting to bother me so I'm happy to be rid of them.
I'm heading to my parents' house this evening to help my mom cook stuff for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Still not sure what *I* am going to eat tomorrow, but I'll figure something out.
If you get to specify what kind of scale you'll get from Santa .... request a digital one that also calculated body fat percentage. This will help keep you encouraged during plateaus. You might not be losing pounds, but you could still be burning fat - and that type of scale will show that.
Best wishes to you and your family. Prayers going out for your military son - so happy he'll be home with you around Christmas time.

Milk of Magnesia is what my nutritionist recommended. If one dose doesn't do the trick, try another. If it continues, definitely call your doctor's office for a recommendation.

I am very happy for you...HOW GREAT ! I hope my one month is as good as yours...I gained 26 pounds in the hospital from fluid. My surgery was Nov 6th....I lost all the fluid and have lost 15 in real weight, so I have 15 more days til my 1 month point.
Keep up the good work and from one loser to another WOOOOOHOOOOO for you. I can not think of any words better then the ones you chose....Woo HOO !
Topic: ADVISE greatly appreciated
Ok, has anyone had severe constipation ? I have it severely and outside taking a enema or using a glycerin suppository does anyone else have this problem and have a suggestion to keep it from reoccuring ?????????????
Had open RNY 11/6/2007
Thanks....April
Topic: RE: Date Change
Better a day sooner than a day later!! I know it can be hard to adjust when things get changed like that, but remember that it brings you closer to your goal one day sooner! You'll do great... Wishing you all the best as you prepare for your surgery on the 26th!

Wow day is right!!! Congratulations on the great progress you are making! It definitely calls for a woohoo and a happy dance!! What fun you'll have shopping for new, smaller clothes! I'm anxious to be joining you on that loser's bench! My November surgery has been changed to 12/6, but I'll be joining you soon. Keep up the great work!

Topic: Wow day!!
Today was one of my victory days! I went to the nutritionist today on post op follow up as I am now 1 month out....and I am down another 22 lbs since my last visit 2 weeks ago, so as of today i am down 42 lbs!! wooooooooo freeeeekin hoooooooo!!!
I was elated and yelled out woooo hoooooo baby!!! I am winning this fight once and for all! I was so excited i yelled in my car another wooo hooo! I am feeling good, and put on a top i used to wear all the time and its soooo big now,,,i even noticed my regular dress pants are getting big around the waist now, and my legs were swimming in the fabric....It felt so good to see that in my clothes and to see that number on the scale too,,,,I havent seen that number in over 10 yrs...on the scale!!
I did a little shopping today for Christmas decorations and did not feel quite so self concious for the first time in a long time.
