I'm sure it's very frustrating to be waiting by the phone for a call. I hope you'll still get surgery today or in the next day or so.
Personally, I would feel very good about my doctor being needed for an emergency --- seems like it speaks to his expertise and skill. That's the kind of surgeon I'd want.
Keep us posted!

Good luck with surgery! You'll do great.
My best advice is to walk as much as possible (and then some) while in the hospital. Even when you don't feel like it, get up and walk. It'll make you feel better - honest. Also drink as much as they'll allow you, it'll help you heal faster if you start early.
See you on the losers side!

Please stop attacking people. We're just trying to help you. Jumping all over people won't get you anywhere.
Also, if you notice under each person's name it will tell you exactly what type of surgery and their surgery date (if they updated that information). You attacked Carolyn who was trying to help you and you wrongly accused her. Notice she hasn't even had her RNY surgery yet.
Please. Be nice.

Topic: Surgery delay
My bags are packed and I'm waiting on a call from the hospital on when my surgery will take place. I've been delayed and possibly canceled so my doctor can assist in an emergency...oh well, keep praying for me!

...this time tomorrow.
I'm a bit scared, and super-apprehensive, wondering if I've made the right decision.
...Jitters stink. Any last words or advice? Things you wish you had brought with to the hospital, etc?
Thanks,
Megh
p.s. This clear-liquid diet sucks. I know I'll be on it for a while, but I'm ready to do an Exorcist routine with broth.

Topic: Good Luck Future Bandsters!
Lots of drama around tonight, so I wanted to come and wish anyone reading this board (I was at 3 am the night before I was banded) a lot of luck and success.
Remember to sip sip sip your water. Walk walk walk as much as possible (it truly helps with the gas). AND most importantly-rest. This is a time to heal and let body and mind prepare themselves for the new challenges that await. Remember, challenges await us all, with or without WLS, but now we'll have tools.
Actually-I'd wish the same thing for anyone facing any WLS, but I wanted to do a special shout out there for my friends with the band....

Topic: RE: Post Surgery
Thanks and same to you. I had the gastric bypass on the 12th of november and the pain was there but I dealt with it pretty well. I haver had the mind games of wanting to eat what everyone else had but I know if I did, I would have the devil to pay. My wife got a pureer machine and has grinded up turkey, ham and mashed potatoes and I have had soups as well so there is life after wards. I have lost 20 lbs since then and I feel much much better!! It does det easier and it doesn't have to mean the end of your foods that you like just smaller amounts. I wish you the best of luck in your new experience and remember, you are not alone! Cya...Kevin
