Hello Gail I do medical billing and took 2 weeks and now I'm working partial days very tired still and tender to the touch aound the incision I had an open RNY with over 4o staples but honestly I was getting bored at home and so the dr allowed me partial hrs but he told me to take it very easy I had major complication during surgery so I had a blood transfusion for two units but I felt pretty good most of the week I just wish I could sleep better. I have a great company that is allowing me to come back slowly. take care and gl on your journey ... Cathy
Topic: I'm off to see the wizard..............
Hey everyone, I'm leaving for my sister-in-laws to spend the night(closer to the hospital). My surgery is tomorrow morning!! I am sooooo scared. I saw a short video online of what they do and it showed EVERYTHING. Now I am flat out scared. But the whole idea of getting my life together, no, just having a life is what is pulling me through this. I love my grandbabies and I want to go to the park or the beach and run with them....... I would do anything to be healthy so I can be who I am inside. So, I am excited to get there. Talk soon.

Wow! I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's gotta be tough.
I have switched to Soy Milk (the kind with added fiber) based on a suggestion from my nutritionist and the chance of being lactose intolerant right after surgery. So far the soy milk has been fine for me. I don't like the taste of it straight, but mixed with stuff it's fine. I buy it at my local Wal-mart supercenter.
As for a soy protein powder. Mmm... I really don't have any brilliant suggestions for this one. I know that you can get soy powders at GNC and health food stores and even at Wal-mart, but I haven't tried any of them to see how they taste. It might just be a matter of experiementing until you find one that's tolerable.
have you called your nutritionist? She might have a suggestion of which way to turn first based on other patients' experiences.
Good luck
Pam
Topic: I had an EDG
Hello I just had an EDG. I was have alot of problems keeping anything down. They wet in and saw that my esofugus had closed to 2mm. Has anyone else had this problem and if so did it happen more then once?
Topic: Please help me find a soy protein...I'm desperate
I haven't had any protein today because I am lactose/all milk product intolerant. I need a good soy protein that does not have any milk product or whey or casein in it. Anybody have any ideas for me and where I can get them????? Please I am really desperate.

see this is what she wrote..... i believe she thoght i was talking to her when i made the comment abiut a fat ass, but i was talking to that other girl and i guess he just assumed that i was calling her a fat ass. we had been having nice convos and then she said this...
even if i'm still fat in a year - i just hope i'm not as bitter, miserable, jaded, and disappointed as you are today. i really wish you the best of luck in finding out what's going wrong with your lapband and i'm glad i was more educated about my procedure than you seem to have been about yours.
so that is why i asked her why she was getting pissy.
and for the record......... i come in here and make a negatative comment about the band,,, AND I GET ATTACKED, JUST LIKE THAT LADY WHO'S HUSBAND HAS THE BAND. SAME THING.
just goes to show that as long as your praising the band, you are all good in here.......the second you say something bad........... whooooooooo wheeeeeeeee watch out.
and i am going to post a private e-mail i received from a person on here, but i will edit their info to respect their privacy, because she does not want to be attacked like i was.

Subject: hey i agree with you.
i didnt want to post anything on the board. i stopped going on this site because i became so depressed reading how well others are doing. i started at surgery july 2nd at 245. i got down to 232 got a fill, got a second fill, it was soooo tight i was in pain i couldnt keep anything down. then got it unfilled in october and shot up to 237. i cant seem to lose weight unless i starve myself...i exercise here and there, ill get into a whole exercise thing then ill stop. im soooo unhappy with this band and wish i had the bypass. now ill do anything to be thin, its killing me. im just glad someone out there feels the same, im sick of hearing how well everyone is doing while theyre tickers are hardly moving.
anywho thanks for listening!

for those that the band has worked for.... i am happy for you, but you can't hate on people who make a comment that theirs doesn't work for them.

pam i wasnlt attacking her at all until she started with the name calling. i thought we were having a civilized conversation and she actually gave me some pointers, then she replied saying a whole bunch of crap tp me, and that is why i asked he why she was getting all pissy. i was being nice until she said that.
and please.... as i said before, i wasn't talking to you or directing any of my posts towards you because you donlt have the band. thank you.
