Hi Mitchell --
Welcome to the losers side! It sounds like you had a bit of a fight while in the hospital, but glad you got things worked out the way you needed them to.
Now it's just a matter of following your program and starting your new way of life. You'll do great!

Topic: The importance of water
I learned my lesson abou****er the hard way. Luckily I caught myself before I got too dehydrated though.
I went away this past weekend for a scrapbooking retreat -- we were way up north in Michigan in the boonies. The water tasted horrible and I didn't have any bottled water with me. So I didn't drink much at all. I might have gotten about 20 ounces a day for 3 days straight. Of course I didn't really realize it was so little while I was misbehaving, but looking back I was shocked I'd been so bad.
So Sunday morning before I was about to leave for home I woke up with a horrible headache, felt weak and blah. I ate some breakfast and felt even worse and had to lay down to take a little nap. On my drive home I came to the realization that I had been dehydrating myself. Idiot! Bad Pam!
So I've been pushing fluids for the past couple days and I can't seem to get enough. I still have the headache and still feeling sluggish, but I can feel some improvement as I drink more.
So learn from my mistake. Drink your water even if you have to work harder at it than normal. You really don't want to experience the type of headache that doesn't go away with any drug and feeling sluggish and weak is not a fun feeling either. Don't be stupid like me.
Drink your water! It's really important.

Topic: RE: How long will I need to be off work after LB surgery?
Hi:
I had a bypass and was in the hospital for 2 days. I took pain meds for two more days and just rested for a week-10 days. I felt really good after 2 weeks. I wasn't supposed drive until after my post op appt. a week after the surgery. I don't work outside the home, but I think I would have felt fine going back to work after 2 weeks.

I am hoping to be approved from my insurance carrier and have lap band surgery sometime in January 2008. How long should I plan on being off work post op? Thanks for your help!
Topic: RE: Please help me find a soy protein...I'm desperate
Hi:
I just posted something similar on the main board. I'm having the same problem with an allergic reaction to Whey Protein.
I did find the Trader Joe's Greek yogurt has 20g of protein in a cup. I mix it with the Pure Protein from Worldwide (which I can tolerate for some reason). I'm getting tired of the same thing though.
