Topic: RE: Anyone have Surgery on the 13th?
Hey Julie! I was banded on the 13th. So far I've lost 20 lbs. I can't wait to get a fill though because my appetite is definitely coming back and I don't want to gain any of it back. I have a slight infection in my port site that my doc is treating with antibiotics. I'm going back to him tomorrow for a re-check. Hopefully it clears up and nothing more comes of it. How are things going for you so far? -Traci

Thanks for the important news, I am still waiting for my lap band surgery date, but I am lurking hoping to get as much info before hand as I can. Can I ask, what are you using for your protien suppliment? I'm not sure which is best, a shake or the bullets. How is your pain level after surgery, I'm hoping to be back to work in one week. Any tips or new info would be welcomed gladly. Sounds like your doing very well, keep up the good work, have a wonderful holiday season! Cathy

All is going well, haven't lost 100lbs yet but I'm sure, given the time, I'll will meet my goal and then some. Found the key, at least one of them, to success -- WATER/FLUIDS. Drink lots of it. I had been feeling somewhat slow, down and out and not as great as the first week. I looked back to the first week and the BIG difference, aside from adding a little bulk to my diet, I wasn't drinking as much water as before. You'd be surprized how much better you feel when your body is hydrated!! 2wks plus 2 days and I feel great. No regrets at all, I am loosing weight and looking alot better. Increasing my water intake made a big difference. Counting my blessings and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

That is really great news!!! I have my lapband next week. I am on the pre-op liquid diet and I am actually very calm about the surgery. Your post was reassuring. I hope your visit on the 14th goes well.

Hi! I had lap band surgery on 11/28. I've had no complications. The laparoscopic surgery is a breeze compared to open surgeries i've had to have in the past. Still on the liquid diet until I see my doctor on 12/14. So far, so very good!

Topic: RE: Eating Questions
Dear Charmane, Know exactly what you're going thru. Had my surgery on the 19th, but I had the gastric sleeve. I've been so confused about what I can and cannot eat at this point. Sometimes I feel like I can eat my old time best, but when I try it usually comes back up. I guess talking to the nutritionist would be a good way to keep on the right track. I myself finally learned that you can't eat a big mac like the old days, even though my body is craving for it. I have gone back to liquids and puree, not that i"m a happy camper about it, but if I want to succeed and lose this awful weight, it's best to do things right and not waste anyone else's time with doing it all wrong. Doctors hate that. Remember you are a representative of their art. Your success is their success. Good luck, we'll all need it now. P.s. How do you get rid of the cravings? I'm going nuts here!
