What have you been trying? My pouchie liked cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, egg drop soup. The next level my pouchie liked shrimp dipped in salsa, scallops cooked in butter spray and a little garlic, S/P, Talapia (as long as it wasn't overcooked!!!). Since your pouch is not happy, it is a good idea to give it a break for a few days. Be sure to still get in your proteins, supplements, and water. MTT

Topic: Looking for Help
I had my Lap-Band surgery on Nov 7th and have gained 10 lbs. Has this ever happened to anyone? Had one fill and a second is due for next week. For Pre-op I was on liquids and my transition to solids could be a factor. I have the same hunger as before and can eat a large amount of food before I feel the slightest restriction. Generally I feel very little difference than pre-op. My clinic tells me not to panic and it often takes up to 3 fills before your set right for the weight loss. In reading the forums that doesn't seem to be the case. I am very discouraged......any suggestions? Tess

Topic: RE: Weight loss to date?
Hi All, Well, I had surgery on Oct. 16, And I am down only 30lbs. I started out at 261, and I have hit about four stalls, some even 2-3weeks at a time. I have complained to my doctor, nut, and OH family and they all tell me the same things: 1. You are a "light weight". So you will not lose as much as people who weigh much more than you. 2. I work out with a personal trainer 3 times a week. Muscle weighs more than fat, so count your inches. Plus, you'll look better in the long run. 3. You are doing great. Everybody loses at a different rate. 4. Most people include their pre- op lost with their post-op lost. Differentiate people!! You have the rest of us going crazy trying to figure out what's wrong! Those are not the answers that I wanted to hear, but it helps to understand. I thought that I was doing something wrong. But there are some "light weights" that are down 40-50lbs that had surgery the same time as myself. I guess the main thing is that we will all cross the finish line, but at different times. So please don't be discouraged everybody, but yall did make me feel better because I felt that I was alone!

Hi Brett, Yes, this past week has been hell. I ate & drank anything. Of course, I was more careful than I normally would. But I have been the same weight since 12/13. My first fill is 1/09 so I hope this makes a difference.

Hard to believe another year has come and gone, but this one should be unique for all of us. I'm looking forward to all the changes to come. I have a wedding to go to in October and I'm looking forward to being able to buy a "normal" size dress. I don't even OWN a dress right now! What are you all looking forward to in 2008?

I had my surgery on 11/26 Lap Band and I have lost 24 lbs. and I'm getting hungry like you too. I have a doctors appointment this week and plan on speaking to him about my situation. I would have thought I would have lost more weight by now. Maybe we need more fluid in the band to tighten it. I will let you know what he says. Since we had our surgery around the same time, i would like to stay in touch. My email address is [email protected].

I had my surgery on Nov 14th and I am only down 27lbs.(i'm over 300lbs) It is very frustrating, especially since I have been on a stall for the past 2 weeks. I am doing all that I am required.... getting in my proteins, water, exercising daily... not sure what else I can do to break this stall. It's funny, I had an easier time loosing prior to surgery than I am now. Uggggg! They never said it was going to be easy, but I didn't realize how frustrating it was going to be. I certainly don't regret having the surgery, cause I know I would have had afew serious binges over the holiday, and all my progress would have been totally lost. Okay,,, done with my rant, lol!! Happy New Year everyone!

My surgery was Nov 12th and to date I have lost 33Ibs. Yes it is a struggle and that looking in the mirror thing is so true sometimes. I try on my old close weekly hoping that today is the day I can wear some of them. But I guess its like that saying Good things come to those who wait!! But the waiting just seems like sooo long. Drink liquids is all I hear and nothing I drink taste good. I have to force it down and then I am nauseated for forcing it down. Protein drinks are even worse but I am waiting on the good at the end.. The healthy I have never been!!!!

Topic: RE: Hello Everyone, I...
I had my RnY 11/22 and have only lost 10 pounds so far. Have cried more than a few tears over it. Cried most of the afternoon again. I lost 8 pounds in the first week and a half and then nothing till Christmas day, when I suddenly lost 5 pounds overnight. In the last few days I've put 3 back on. I keep track of all I eat, I'm hitting my protein goal of at least 60 grams every day, my calories hover around 800. Just a couple of days ago I went to solid foods but thinking of going back to purees for the most part since a lot of the food is getting stuck. I sometimes wonder if I've made this huge mistake, one that will affect the rest of my life, with very little in the way of a payoff. Between the small weight loss, the food always getting stuck, a nonstop headache since surgery, I see no pay off so far. Hugs, Ellie
