As of today I've lost 29.5 pounds. I had a two week stall that felt like forever. Now, that's over, and my body is back on track. I wasn't too worried about the stall, just a little frustrated. I figure if my weight stalls here and there, maybe it will give my skin a little time to shrink. I really don't want to end up looking like the incredible melting woman if I can help it.

How about soft scrambled eggs? Another good one is to take a couple of ounces of ricotta cheese, mix with a little salt, pepper and garlic and top with a couple of tablespoons of low sugar spaghetti sauce. Are you doing protein shakes? You need your protein to heal. If you haven't talked to your nutritionist, do so now. They can help. Good Luck!

Hi Pam, Thank you for responding back to me on this issue. Yes it is a lot of weight, but at the time when I had the surgery done, My Dr. came in the very next morning and told me that I was going to be one that would be able to lose the weight fast, and said that by Jan. I would lose around 80 lbs., and so far, he is pretty accurate.
I have also tried the chicken like they asked me to do, but, chicken is not working for me either. I have not tried the tuna salad yet, and that is only because of fear that it won't settle right. I have had some fish, but something about the smell in what is cooking makes me sick. My Husband is worried about me because seems like everything I eat, I lose. I do have a call in for my Dr., so I hope to hear from them tomorrow.
I have had no sugar at all in 9 months, and I don't miss that at all, so for people to eat that in front of me does not bother me at all. I guess if I were able to eat a little something at the time when everybody sits down at the table, It would not bother me so bad, and, I have just sat in the chair talking to others while they ate, and that is ok, but it is just sometimes, not all the time, just sometimes, when I want to be able to have more than just 3 bites of something and not lose it. I seem to do okay with refried beans, milk, peanut butter, and cheese. Not good with eggs at all, and that is one of the things we are suppose to have for protien. I take my vitamins everyday, and I try to get something down, but maybe my Dr. can advise me on something else.
Pam, it was so nice chatting with you, and again, thank you so much for writing back. It sure helped to read what you had to say, and I will try the tuna for sure. Who knows, it might work! lol Have a great evening.

I have a lady in my support group who was a super slow loser. By the 4 month mark she'd lost 10 pounds. But now she's at goal and doing great!
She and I have a theory about people who tend to lose slow and it seems like you might fall into that theory. Most of the people we'd heard of who lost super slow were people who were religious dieters and healthy eaters before surgery --- so surgery and lower calories weren't a huge shock to the system as it might be with those who binged before surgery.
I think the 31 pounds you lost before surgery is outstanding and you need to count those towards your overall weight loss. Your body does.
Good job on the treadmill - you're doing better than I am! LOL! Keep up the good work - keep the faith, the weight WILL come off.

70 pounds in 10 weeks is really fast losing! What does your surgeon say about losing so much so quickly?
Have you talked to your nutritionist about figuring out how to eat more healthfully? Maybe she'd have some suggestions to get you up to the level of eating that you should be at by now. Are you hitting your daily protein intake goals?
I personally don't do well with chicken. It's simply too fiberous and tough for me to digest. I do really well on tuna salad and that's got a ton of protein. I also do well with canned chicken or baked fish. Have you tried any of those?
As for not being with family when they are eating. I don't have a problem with this, but then again, I'm not having major issues with eating either. I personally have been able to change my way of thinking to realize that mealtimes are about being together, socializing and having quality time together --- it's not about the eating. I didn't have a problem at Christmas time while everyone around me was munching on cookies and homemade candy and sweets because I knew that my health and weight lose was much more important than all those things I couldn't eat. I was just happy to be with family.
My suggestion would be to contact your nutritionist or surgeon and ask for help. They've seen everything, so they will likely have suggestions on how you can get your body to accept the foods it needs for proper nutrition.
Good luck
Pam

Well you all have me beat. I am 7 1/2 weeks out and have lost 16 pounds so far, 4 of them just this week. The scale gets stuck for very long periods of time, starting at a week and a half out from surgery. I did lose 31 pounds in the year before surgery, about 20 of those in the month before surgery. I walk on the treadmill almost every day for 20-30 minutes, make sure my protein is up to 60+ and my calories hover around 800. Not sure what the problem is but at least I'm losing.
Hugs, Ellie

Sometimes, I get so mad trying to eat something, and to watch others eat when I can't makes it even harder. I end up going off into another room just so I don't have to see it. I had my surgery the 1st part of Nov. in 07, and so far I have lost 70lbs. All I seem to be able to eat is soup, pudding, jello, and popsicles, or sugar free fudgesicles. I can't eat anykind of meat. Not even small bites of chicken. Some food makes me sick just to smell it, much less to try and eat it. I have 90lbs to go, and I will be at the weight I should be at for my height, but at this rate, and at this time frame, I think i will stop losing, and then it picks back up again. I have no cravings at all ever. I am just sick to death of soup, and broth. Is anybody else having this same kind of madness going on? Nobody in my Family understands, so I am hoping somebody in here will.

I have lost 45 pounds to date so far (12 pre surgery and 33 post surgery). I too fall short on my water some days and end up on the low end of my protein. I do have a suggestion for the craving of the big cheesy pizza!! I have my family hooked on tortilla pizzas! Put some extra virgin olive oil on a baking sheet and place on it a large tortilla (preferably a low carb), I put some organic spaghetti sauce (low in sugar), sprinkle mozzerella cheese (low fat), and you can put on it some turkey pepperoni, grilled chicken, or nothing else and then put it in the oven on 375 for about 8-9 minutes and then you have a good pizza that tastes delicious without all the excess fat and bread!!
You can play around with whatever you want on it, but it is a good alternative. My son begged me to make him one last night (and we have about 5 of those big DiGiourno pizzas in the freezer) but he wanted a tortilla pizza instead! They are good when you have that pizza craving!!

I have lost 45 pounds so far. I haven't been very good at exercising but I signed my daughter and I up for a Zumba class at the YMCA that starts this Saturday and I signed up for a line dancing class that will be once a week. I figured that both would be a fun kind of exercise and then I plan on hitting the treadmill on some of the other days!
