Thank you so much for that suggestion..........I may try that and see if it will work for me also. I talked to my Dr. and he said to just eat pork, & fish for now. He said a lot of people have a very hard time trying to eat chicken after the surgery, and I guess I am one of those people.
Thanks again,
Paula
Topic: doing great
I'm 6 weeks 3 days post-op. I've had no problems from the start. I'm behaving and doing exactly what the doc says. I had my first fill 2 days ago (4 cc.). He had a tough time finding just the right spot on the port to insert the needle so had to do some probing around, which was not pleasant. Other than that, I feel fine even though I've only lost 13 1/2 lbs so far. No queasiness or vomiting so far. If I couldn't feel the port, I wouldn't even know I'd had lap band surgery.

I had Gastric RNY on November 26th with a two week Slimfast diet before. In total I have lost 58 lbs. I really can't eat much...yogurt, peanut butter, toast, rice and beans, soup, banannas, a poached egg ( no scrambled), cheese and that's about it! Think I will take advantage of it so when I slow down it won't be so drastic a shock! I am having trouble slowing down to eat and chewing. I do feel great though!!!

Hi Paula,
I had my surgery on Nove 26, 2007 and I can only eat the things you do. I throw up when I try something different. I have consigned myself to this life so I can lose what I can now because later it will slow down. I was concerned but not anymore. I just stick with what I can.I also have lost alot of weight.

Paula, Have you tried the Underwood Deviled Chicken in a can, like the Deviled Ham? That was and is a lifesaver for me. It is moist and well processed so it goes down eaiser. I feel you...Hang tough...bmah

Hi Shirley,
Thank you for you're reply. I have tried eating scrambled eggs, but I guess it is the smell of them that just makes me sick, and that keeps me from eating them. I have had some reg. 2% cheese on a few things, and the cheese seems to work with me, and another person suggested tuna salad which I am going to try today actually. I like tuna, so I hope that works. My Husband is just worried about me because I can't seem to keep a lot down. Strange as this sounds, I can eat a small bean burrito and never have a problem. I also don't have a problem with peanut butter, but I can only handle so much of that. lol I am just going to keep testing out different things, but I have a call in for my Dr. to explain what is going on, so maybe he will be able to tell me what is going on, and why I can't keep much down. Thank you again for your reply, and nice chatting with you.

I am at 36 pounds and happy at that as I never lost 36 pounds in 7 weeks before - I find that the OH Yeah! bars that I heard about here certainly satisfy my sweet tooth - they are 105 calories per wafer with 7 Grams of Protein - 2 to the package - yummy!
they can be ordered at www.issresearch.com Keep up the good work! Marie

33 lbs since surgery or since you started your pre-op diet? I have only lost 12 since surgery and it's been 6 weeks. I'm definitely discouraged and feeling down.

Thanks Pam. That may be true. I was a pretty healthy eater before surgery, just had these problems with night-time grazing, which is where most of the weight gain came from.
