Ellie, Sorry to hear about the problems! Here's my schedule: Breakfast: South Beach Diet High Protein Cereal Bar 10 gm protein Snack: Pecans Lunch: South Beach Diet frozen meal or wrap 22-28 gm protein Dinner: chicken, fish, (I had think pork chop last week and it's ok), eggs and a veggie 20-25 gm protein Snack: sf pudding cup and handful of almonds if I'm not at my protein goals Snack: Skinny latte from SB! I have no real problems with eating. I tried ground beef last week and it was fine as well as the pork chop. Only dumped on Salmon (2X) and baby back ribs but that was right at 6 weeks and I don't think I chewed it good enough. The salmon is too dry. I forced myself at about 8 weeks to go off of the liquid protein and EAT my protein. It was tough, but I'm doing it now. I hope you can get some satisfaction!

I want to thank everyone for their responses. It sounds like most of you can eat almost anything except for smaller portions, but a few of you are having similar problems to what I have. I am going to try and get in to the dietitian by the end of the month and see what she thinks. Thanks again, everyone. Hugs, Ellie

My day pretty much looks like this, mealwise: Breakfast: Protein Coco made with Soy Slender. Lunch: 3 oz of tuna, or shrimp or salmon, 2 oz salsa, 1/4 cup sliced cucumbers Dinner: 3 oz of seafood, 2 oz salsa, 1/4 cup steamed veggies. If I have room at dinner, I might have a tbsp of brown rice, or couscous. If I want a snack, I might have 1 graham cracker spread with 1 tsp smooth peanut butter. 64 oz chamomile tea/day Sometimes I might have scrambled egg beaters or shaved deli ham for my protein. I can't eat most chicken, I can't eat beef or pork at all. I get about 3 bites in, and it feels like it's stuck in my chest. I'm supposed to be having 3 oz protein, 1/2 cup of veggies, some grains and 1/2 cup of fruit. I just can't fit it all in. So, I make my protein my priority. I figure the rest will come in time.

I think I eat pretty normal for just having surgery on November 28th. I eat all different types of fish, shrimp, I eat veggie burgers, chicken (as long as it's not dry) cooked veggies, eggs, yogurt, baked potatoes, all kinds of foods. I'm sorry to hear you are having such a hard time! I can't believe you have a dr. *****fuses to do right by you. There's no reason he should refuse to check to see if you have a stricture! I don't know what kind of recourse there is out there, maybe you could contact your insurance provider or contact the hospital that your surgeon works for. They usually have a patient advocate there that will speak on your behalf to get you the care you deserve!!! Definitely see the hospital nutritionist and see if they can help you!! Best of luck to you! Tammy

I am also just over 3 months out...I told a friend the other day that I feel pretty much normal when I eat, but I just can't eat alot of it...I stay away from fibrous foods, deli meats (they got stuck early on and I am still "afraid"), and spicy things and I am fine...I even eat out in restaraunts without issue at this point...I do feel very lucky to feel this normal already, just in smaller portions....I haven't tried anything full sugar like real chocolate, but haven't had trouble with protein bars or sugar free sweets either...I am not officially certain, but I don't think I will be a dumper from what I have seen so far, but have seen a big change in the trends of what I crave..Prior to surgery I was a HUGE chocoholic/sweets kinda girl, but now if I "crave" anything it seems to be salty stuff...big change for me... I would really look into a second opinion, unless you really like your doctor...Its possible he/she is just very conservative, but at the same time, you could be eating a better variety...Good luck to you!

I can eat about what you eat. I think it could be a blessing...so we can't eat much. I tried to eat shrimp last week and lost it. I had surgery on 11/26/07. I'm just resigned to what I can eat and thank God that I'm having no humger and losing very well. Our day will come when we wish we couldn't eat!!! Hamd in there!

I found a good whey protien shake from vitamin world for 15.00 for 3 lbs. I also use the protien bullets, although they don't actually call them bullets at that store but they are bullet shaped, sort of and have 42 grams of protein in 3.5 ozs of liquid. I drink it straight but some add it to water for a juice. I drink 1/2 of one at a time and they are inexpensive. you can go to bariactriceating.com and order them online if you want also. They come in only 3 flavors, that sorta sucks but it works for me. Jeannie
