Six month check in
Here's my info...I've started to slow down now quite a bit..
So all of us will celebrate our 6 month surgiversary with our new life and all of our new habits to replace those old ones for good. Where does everyone stand?
Eating: Calories and Protein a day
-I log everything into thedailyplate.com. I am still only required to keep protein grams, but do keep an eye on the calories. I typically net 700-900 calories per day, but my gross before exercise can be upwards of 1200-1400, depending on my workouts.
-I'm a protein "*****" lol...I typically average 85-115g per day.
Exercise: Frequency and type
-Depending on the work week schedule, I get in a minimum of 4 days per week, but more often 5-6 days per week. I always give myself one day off.
-My workouts vary from elliptical x 45 minutes, walking x 60 minutes, playing squash x 60 minutes for cardio. I weight train for ~20 minutes x 3 days per week.
Weight: Day of Surgery / Today's weight
-I'm considered a "lightweight." I started with a BMI of 40.9 (5'7") and 261lbs. Lost 14lbs pre-op. Down 80lbs total and couldn't be happier!
Inches lost: Total number
Kicking myself for not having done this!
Eating: NOT COUNTING CALORIES / about 75 grams of protein daily
Exercise: M -W-F at least 30 minutes on the treadmill
T- TH bowflex

Waist 47/ today 36 7/8
Hips 55 1/4 / today 44
Eating: around 800 calories a day, around 65 gms of protein
Exercise: Strength training at least twice a week. I try not to go two days in a row without some kind of exercise.
Weight: Day of surgery 236.5/Today 175.5 I'm losing slower than most, but that's ok with me.
I don't measure inches, but I started this wearing 4xl pants and now my size 18's (regular not plus size) are very loose.
Highest weight one year ago: 286 entered wls program at 283
Day of surgery weight (Nov. 20): 268
Today (6 month appt): 190!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Measurements:
Body part - day of surgery - today
upper arm - 15.25 - 13
waist - 55 - 39
hips - 55 - 45
Exercise: biking, walking, resistance and weight training: Need to get more consistent.
Eating:
Doing good at maintaining 800-1000 calories per day and 80-100g protein per day. Also try to get 25-30g fiber everyday.
Exercise:
Joined a 20-week walking training program. At the 15-week mark there is a 10-mile race. At the 20-week mark there's a half-marathon. That's right folks... I'm training for a half-marathon. I still have problems wrapping my head around the fact that I'll go from morbidly obese to a half-marathon in less than a year.
Weight:
299.4 / 216.4 --- 83 pounds lost
Inches:
I measured last month, didn't do it this month. But total a month ago was 85 inches all over.
Other Goals:
The next 6 months I'm focusing on the other areas of my life that I want to change. I've spent enough time obsessed with eating and exercise -- I'll keep obsessing, but I guess I need some new obsessions. Each month for the next 6 months I'll be adding a new goal to work toward. This month is Spiritual Health. Then: Financial Health, Emotional Health, Relationship Health and Intellectual Health. These are all things that are just as important to me as my physical health and I want to do a Total Pam Makeover!

Ya'll are making me look bad... I have only lost 43 pounds. I see from all of your comments that I really do need to get up and walk and stop just talking about it. I really have a hard time getting started with that. I dont count calories, but I did purchase a little plate to help my mind adjust to the fact that "less is more" I have been on a plateau, but finally got over the 40# hump and have started losing again. I was really getting discouraged, but this week, I ran into a friend that I haven't seen in a few months, and she just about freaked about how much better I look, and how she can tell the surgery is working, and so on...I needed that. Then my sister picked out a blouse and brought it to me. It is form fitting with a pretty & colorful print...I usually don't wear form fitting, colorful things because you cant hind behind those...Well anyway, I got the nerve to wear it and I was almost embarrased because so many people raved about how they can really see how much I have lost when I wear something like that...Well, I dont know how much room I have so I better hush for now. I'll get one of the kids to tell me how to post my picture like Ya'll did. Thanks for the inspiration. I will report next time that I have been exercising and hopefully that I have hit the 50# down mark...ttfn...Debra
