Weight loss to date?
Hi Diana
I had my rny the same day as you and i've lost 34lbs . I lost 28lbs in the first two weeks and it completely slowed down but i have lost 3 to 4 inches in the last couple of weeks so it doesn't matter if the scale is telling you your not losing but the inches are still coming off have you taking your mesurements? if not it might be a good idea to do so.in the last week i've lost 4 lbs so it's finally starting to move again.
I am stuggling too in lots of ways. I'm pretty good about getting in supplements, but I fall short on the water some days. I meet my goals on protein, but on the low end of the range. And sometimes... I want pizza! A big ole cheesy pizza. Weighed in today and lost 3 lbs - so now 37 in 6 weeks. But it's hard to be happy with 3 in a week when you have to work so hard to get there...
I have lost 45 pounds to date so far (12 pre surgery and 33 post surgery). I too fall short on my water some days and end up on the low end of my protein. I do have a suggestion for the craving of the big cheesy pizza!! I have my family hooked on tortilla pizzas! Put some extra virgin olive oil on a baking sheet and place on it a large tortilla (preferably a low carb), I put some organic spaghetti sauce (low in sugar), sprinkle mozzerella cheese (low fat), and you can put on it some turkey pepperoni, grilled chicken, or nothing else and then put it in the oven on 375 for about 8-9 minutes and then you have a good pizza that tastes delicious without all the excess fat and bread!!
You can play around with whatever you want on it, but it is a good alternative. My son begged me to make him one last night (and we have about 5 of those big DiGiourno pizzas in the freezer) but he wanted a tortilla pizza instead! They are good when you have that pizza craving!!
Hi Diana,
I had my Lap Rny on 11/19 and have lost 22 lbs to date and only 3 in the last 10 days which feels PAINFULLY slow. I'm trying not to worry about it though and will be hitting the gym for the first time as a post-op today so hopefully that will have an impact. I'll be sorely disappointed if I don't eventually start dropping more quickly though! Keep up the good work girl!
As of this morning I'm 6 weeks post-op and I've lost 36lbs since being released from the hospital.
I guess as slow as it feels to each of us we're right on track! Seriously...when was the last time I dropped 36 pounds in less than 2 months???
I suppose a lot has to do with your starting weight too... I know my surgeon and my nutritionist both said you should lose between 8 and 10% of your total weight in the 1st month.

Well, do I really want to say? I've lost 19 pounds in 4 weeks (from the weight I went into surgery with). Makes me kind of sad when I read all your losses. Why haven't I lost more? I understand that we all lose at out own rate. I've been working out, and working hard at it. I've been watching my food, in fact just got going on food a week ago. Now I'm kinda depressed, but my nurse clinician said I was doing fine, and I was happy with the 19 pounds. It's more than I've ever lost in any given month in my life. I just don't want my window to close before I lose a majority of my excess.
What number do you all use as your starting point (when did you weigh to get your start number) for determining how much you've lost due to the actual surgery?
