How long will I need to be off work after LB surgery?

I am hoping to be approved from my insurance carrier and have lap band surgery sometime in January 2008. How long should I plan on being off work post op? Thanks for your help!

I had Lap band surgery on Nov 28th and I am going back to work on Monday Dec 10th my doctor told me to use my own judgement and don't go bac****il I am off of the pain medication.

Hi: I had a bypass and was in the hospital for 2 days. I took pain meds for two more days and just rested for a week-10 days. I felt really good after 2 weeks. I wasn't supposed drive until after my post op appt. a week after the surgery. I don't work outside the home, but I think I would have felt fine going back to work after 2 weeks. Christina
