I haven't had any protein today because I am lactose/all milk product intolerant. I need a good soy protein that does not have any milk product or whey or casein in it. Anybody have any ideas for me and where I can get them????? Please I am really desperate. xoxo Kris

Kris - Wow! I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's gotta be tough. I have switched to Soy Milk (the kind with added fiber) based on a suggestion from my nutritionist and the chance of being lactose intolerant right after surgery. So far the soy milk has been fine for me. I don't like the taste of it straight, but mixed with stuff it's fine. I buy it at my local Wal-mart supercenter. As for a soy protein powder. Mmm... I really don't have any brilliant suggestions for this one. I know that you can get soy powders at GNC and health food stores and even at Wal-mart, but I haven't tried any of them to see how they taste. It might just be a matter of experiementing until you find one that's tolerable. have you called your nutritionist? She might have a suggestion of which way to turn first based on other patients' experiences. Good luck Pam

Hi: I just posted something similar on the main board. I'm having the same problem with an allergic reaction to Whey Protein. I did find the Trader Joe's Greek yogurt has 20g of protein in a cup. I mix it with the Pure Protein from Worldwide (which I can tolerate for some reason). I'm getting tired of the same thing though. Christina

Hi! Try looking for Soy Slender Soymilk. This is shelf-stable soymilk so look for it on a shelf in an aisle, not in the dairy section. It comes in flavors and is about 7 grams of protein for 8 oz. GNC makes a pretty good Soy Protein, in Vanilla, Chocolate and Unflavored. Stay away from the Banana, it's atrocious! If you make your shakes with the Soy Slender, you can get 27 grams of protein in one shake. When I was on full liquids, I would take 8 ounces of Tomato Juice, 8 ounces of water, heat it, flavor it with Old Bay Seasoning and throw it in the blender with a scoop of the unflavored Soy Protein Powder. Closest I could get to soup! Good Luck!! Shirley in NH
