Surgery was rough I had a Open RNY and my dr told my family that my spleen and stomach was extremly close together and He hit it so I lost a lot of blood It took about two day in the hosp to get me feeling like I was Alive my Blood pressure dropped to 85/50 or so and my temp was up my pulse was up so they gave me a blood transfusion and I felt super I really was out of it until I got the blodd put in But I had a great dr that got my spleen to stop bleeding and I lived through all that. I was in the hosp almost 5 days he wanted me to stay longer but left it up to me so I chose to come home. it has been rough on my poor ribs they had to spread them to get to my spleen pretty quick and so there very sore. but no broken ones. I had lost 18 pounds on my liquids before surgery and I go to see my surg. next wed to get the g tube out It kind of hurts. but it can be unpluged and let any gas or air out of my tummy so its nice also. I had a great young male nurse that took great care of me while in the hosp. the dr came to see me quit a bit while in the hosp. and today he called to check up on me here at home. but I feel pretty good just a little sore. And yes I would do it again even with all the problems. did anyone have indigestion during the 1st few weeks home ? my dr did put me on some stomach meds to settle it down I woke up twice the last two nights feeling like it was strangling me, but if it continues I have to go see the surgeon sooner. I get to have my staples taken out wed this week here near my home by my reg. dr to save me the drive back to sioux falls its 170 + miles to drive and gas has gone up again here. so it was nice to not have to go back there twice in just two weeks. hopefully the meds he gave me for my tummy works. take care all my Nov people..

Congrats for getting to the loser's bench!! I'll join you at the end of the month! I'm sorry to hear about all the troubles you had with the surgery, etc., but glad that you made it through OK and are home resting now. It wouldn't hurt to call the surgeon's office today and ask about the indigestion that you are having. They may be able to ease your mind - or let you know you should get in there sooner. Take care and keep us posted on how things are going! You're doing fabulous!! ~Nancy~
