Surgery Date 11/20/07

Anyone else having lap RNY on that day? Jen

Hi, Jen - I'm a week after you. I'm having lap RNY on 11/27/07 in Federal Way. When do you have to start your pre-op diet? I'm heading to the surgeon's nutrition class tomorrow so will find out more then, but they told me to start on a bunch of vitamins and protein drinks ASAP so I started that yesterday. Should be an interesting journey! Good luck with your surgery! I have a friend in Vancouver who had lap RNY on 9/5/07 at Good Sam/Legacy in Portland. Are you having surgery in Portland or in Vancouver? Nancy

Hi Nancy, Actually I'm not having the procedure done in the States. I'm heading for Ensenada Mexico. Take a look at my profile, I talk about it on there in my blogs. Maybe we can keep track of each other. I am starting the liquid diet in a week and half. My doc says 10 days pre-op diet. But right now, I am lowering carbs, so I won't be craving. Guess I'm doing the Atkins for now. Jen

HI Jen, I am so glad to have a buddy to go thru this with. Keep in touch and let me know how you get along. I'll go take a look at your profile. I haven't finished a lot of mine as I am still pretty new to the board and posting. But it is wonderful to have so many friends to talk to and get help and support from. I just back from the visit with my surgeon and his "fellow" and everything is on schedule. I have my pre-op on Nov. 12 and 13th. Yep... two days. They could'nt get my upper GI scheduled with the regular pre-op so I have two days of doing "stuff" I plan on doing the liquid diet starting next week - right now I'm cutting down portions more than I already have and drinking plenty of fluids. So far I haven't craved anything so I guess that is a good thing. Nancy

Hey Nancy... It's looking like I may be having surgery on the 27th rather than the 20th. We'll be recuping together!

Hi Jen, That is my surgery day also! I am having mine at Durham Regional (a part of Duke Hospital System) in Durham, NC. Hope we both do very well. Tak care and good luck. Nancy

Hi I am having surgery Nov 20 as well!!! I am so so excited. I am having it done at Sacred Heart in Spokane. I don't have any real nervousness yet but I am sure it will come the week before or so. I am so glad we have a group of us on that date so we can watch each others progress.

Hi Jen I am also have RNY on that same day in Nashville TN. We are going to start our new life together. So all of us with that date need to stay in touch with each other. Hope everyone the best of luck. Tonya

Hi to all having surgery on 11-20-07. Let's alll keep in touch by posting on the board how we get along in surgery and all that stuff. It's so good knowing that there are quite a few FRIENDS having surgery on the same day.
