November Surgery Date Support

Hello- I am scheduled for surgery on Nov. 1st, Anyone from the Nov. surgery date message board that would like to keep in touch, please contact me... I am so excited, nervous, even a little scared... It would be great to have someone to chat with who may be going thru the same things as I am. Or even before or aftr the date... sometimes having someone to commiserate with is the best.. Hi Sue, I'm also scheduled for Nov. 1st! I'm very scared along with my husband, kids and friends so I can't even really talk to them about it. I'm also very excited about starting my new life. Anyway, I'm sure things will turn out well for the both of us. Please keep in touch and let me know how things go for you. Can I add you to my list of friends (currently 1 ;o)?

Hi- Definately!~ I could sure use someone else to talk to . I agree with you- family and friends don't understand what I went through to get here, or why I need to do this. I really am POSITIVE about my choice, I am confident with my surgeon and his team. On the other hand, maybe my hubby is just tired of me always talking about the surgery, spending all my free time on this site and my emotional state or happy, sad, crying (over anything-but it doesn't help that I am also pms'ing) I just want to be on the 'other' side. Which surgery are you having? I'm not sure if I said in my post or not- I am having open gastric - not lap band. Please add me to your list of friends and I'll do the same. Lets just take these next few days one at a time, as they come... remember to breath and enjoy this time with our families and friends. Our new beginning will come along shortly.! thanks again- lets talk again soon!

Hi I am from Oregon, I am having my surgery on November 30th. I am excited, scared and have supportive and non-supportive family. Some just don't see me as being in need of the surgery and love me the way they see me. But I have a lot of very supportve people and know a few people who have gone through it themselves. I would like to have someone to talk to about this as I go through this road to my new life.

Hi Jeanne, I was trying to answer all the posts. It sounds like you have alot of support. Unfortunately, my main support person(my sister) moved to CA. Its good to have people to talk to. I've found that people either want to hear about the surgery to tell me not to do it, or they are tired of hearing me talk about it. I am just so excited! And tomorrow is the big day. If you read the other posts, you'll see that another member is having surgery tomorrow as well, please give her shout- we all need all the support we can get. Take care and ask anything you want...
