COOL! I am a huge Survivor fan too. I wanted to cry when he gave that up. Jeff called that one - Erik learned a life lesson that day.
Glad you had a great day.

Shawn,
We are Survivor Fans too and we were screaming at Erik NOT to give up immunity! How stupid after he'd seen what the women had already done!!!
Have a good day - I'm off to the gym and chiropractor. I have a biking date this evening with a new friend.

Not sure how many on this board are Survivor fans, but I had to post this.....
Monday, Memorial day... I was walking my girls (both girl scouts), from our house down to the elementary school for them to be in the village parade..... We are about half way there and I look in front of me and the "kid" walking toward me looked familiar.... OMG!!!!! It was Erik!!!!! You know, the one that gave up immunity.... He is from my home town, but it was so wild to actually meet someone from Survivor... My first words to him were.... "What were you thinking?"...... LOL... Then of course I congratulated him on how far he made it..... I had such a great day with my kids that day, and then to meet him too, well that just topped it off....
Just had to share that with all of you....
Hugs,
Shawn M.

Actually my new avatar is from Memorial Day... Look at the red, white and blue stars on my head... LOL..... But I did wear that same hat today golfing... The difference was it was 85 degrees on Memorial day and 63 degrees today.... That is Michigan for ya... LOL....
My son's wife is home on leave with him... I have been getting my belly rubs in for my grandbaby.... He hasn't kicked for me yet, but I will get my time with him this fall, I am sure of it....
His wife doesn't golf, so my hubby got to go with us... They gave us a great deal on our golfing rate because my son is in the Army... but yes, golfing is very expensive that is why we don't go often... hubby hasn't been in 5 years and last time I went my mom paid for me.... I was shocked how much they cut off for our rate.. and then when we stopped for lunch after the first 9 holes they only charged us for half our meal.... They were so generous.... We did leave them a nice tip before we left....
Well, I gotta go check my facebook stuff and my myspace page, then I am off to bed.... I will try and check in tomorrow, but no promises.... OH... I did make my home made chili.... wooo hooo... I am eating it now.... High fiber, high protein.... Yeah Me!!!!
Hope you have a good day tomorrow....
I think I am going to try and get a nap in after the kids head off to school... LOL...
HUGS,
Shawn M.

Shawn,
I see we've gone from Glamor Girl to Golf Girl on the avatar! Your post today sounds very happy and it makes me happy to read it! I remember the last time you went golfing with your mom you sounded happy too. You need to play more golf! From what I understand though, golfing is very expensive! It's so great that you got to go with your mom, your hubby and your son. Was his wife able to come home on leave with him or is he alone? I know the memories you are making during this leave will help him through his upcoming dreaded assignment.
Good job on having just a little fudge!!! Please don't go look for the No Sugar Added Klondikes! They may tempt you! I bought some Brown Sugar Strawberries today. I've heard they are very sweet and better than the "regular" strawberries. They certainly are more expensive. They are good but I think I'll spend my money on the Mt. Ranier Cherries. When are those coming out? I LOVE them. I usually find them at Sam's. Since they come from Washington state, they have to be shipped totally across the country but I want my cherries!!!! I haven't had any watermelon today but I will have some later!
You are too busy to get down and out these days, Shawn! I'm glad! Let's keep looking over each other's shoulders so we stay on track!!! We both need to remember that one misstep doesn't mean a wasted day. We can get back on track with the next bite we take! WE ARE STRONG!!! WE CAN DO THIS!

Valorie,
You may get a big surprise when you do weigh in! Since you are doing really well with your food intake and clothes are getting looser, maybe you shouldn't rush out and buy a scale yet! Sometimes the Scale Monster just likes to torture us!
Keep up the great work you are doing!

Whew!!!! What a long day!!!!
18 holes of golf... and I walked most of it because I kept hitting my ball only about 20 yards at a time... LOL.... I did horrible, but got to spend the day with hubby, my mom and my son (the one home on leave from the army)... We had a blast and did a lot of goofing off... It took us almost 5 hours to golf 18 holes... None of us did very well, but at least we had a good time.... My son was a riot too.... I am exhausted from the day and I hope me and hubby can do it again soon.... It has been 5 years since we went golfing together...
Tonight I have to make toga's for my 2 girls (to be worn over clothes)... They have a girl scouting even to benefit battered women, and they get to wear togas.... That is tomorrow night, but I have to make the togas tonight.... :::::sigh::::: so much to do and so little time to do it in..... End of the year picnics are coming up at schools for all my kiddos, plus a few field trips yet.... Then they are home for the summer..... :::::rolling eyes::::: LOL..... I wish there were no summer break, but at least I get a couple months to sleep in...
Overall it has been a good day.... perfect weather for golfing (sunny and 63 degrees).... I also have made much better food choices today... I did have a nibble of fudge today, but I had my curves cereal for breakfast and a lean pocket for lunch.... I think I will have some homemade chili for dinner... I like when I have a busy day, it keeps me from grazing....
I will remember you on my shoulder, talking in my ear next time I run to the fridge... LOL....
I don't think I have ever seen those sugar free Klondikes... I will have to check for those... I am so happy to hear that you were rewarded by the scale today... You go girl!!!! You rock!!!!!
HUGS,
Shawn M.

Susan,
I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot tell you how touched I am by what you have shared with us these past months. I know how hard this must be but I hope you are at peace about how you've handled a bad situation because you could not have done any more than what you did. I was wondering if you felt comfortable enough to post a picture of your mother on your profile. I know you are very busy right now but I would love to see a picture of her. How old was she? What did she like to do?
Please take care of yourself while planning the arrangements and get back to us when you can.
