Valorie,
You are one tough lady if you were out doing yard sales this weekend! I was out early Saturday morning and it was still humid! Hope you found some good stuff!
And, I admire you going out dancing all night! Was it a girl's night out? Sounds lke FUN!
Aw. that was so sweet that your husband said the "new" place seemed like home!
I think NOT gaining is success so get back on track and that scale will drop again. We all seem to be in the same darned boat lately - having trouble with carbs - junky carbs. If we could all just get a few great days under my belts (!), it would be much easier to avoid those temptations. I have a Wednesday appointment with my WLS surgeon and I so wanted to have lost at least 2 or 3 pounds since the last time I was there but I've had another one of "those" weekends! Not horrible but not what I should be doing.
I know Hormone Hell is torturous but try to load up on the good protein so you'll be able to fight the urges a little better. You are doing great, Val!

Corinna,
I have a deal for you! If you'll come here and bear this heat, you can teach my classes and I'll come there and sing! We'll see who gets the most complaints! Oh, wait, that will be ME!!!
I'm glad you are still doing so well on the low carbs - that tiny little blip on the scale is just that, a blip! Keep strong!
The TT (or LBL in my case) was harder than my lap RNY but overall wasn't horrible. Wanda had the TT and she was amazing! My biggest complain was the swelling. Then I had a little necrosis because of a junction of several incision lines.
Different people heal at different rates but take off as much time as you can up to about 5 weeks. If it's a TT, it might be a little less. I was working out lightly much before that and took a 2 week trip but it does take a little time to build up your endurance. Also, get your iron level up now! Take your time in choosing a surgeon too.

Britt,
If I looked as good as you do in a bikini, I would go SHOPPING in it!!! Not to mention that you are about my daughter's age!!!! This old woman is lucky she has the nerve to walk around in a swimsuit regardless of incisions!!! I know you were/are considering a TT but at least that scar wouldn't show in your bikini! My poor arm scars may always be very visible but I sure love the toned arms I have now!

Christine!!!! Wow! Well, I know how you are feeling - to an extent at least!!! You aren't nearly as bruised as I was after my eye and face lift! Mine was 6 weeks ago. I didn't have the forehead or brow lift but lower face, neck and upper and lower lids. I wish you a quick and event free healing. I'm still unhappy with my results because of my swollen cheeks and poor dried out eyes from the lower lid swelling. Maybe someday things will settle down. I got on Makemeheal.com and read tons of stories so mine is not out of the ordinary. Right now I can't remember which bruised photos I put on my profile but I think there are a couple!
I also saw on your profile that you had a hysterectomy +. I don't recall your posting about that but I hope your recovery from that wasn't bad.
I was glad to hear that your daughter is doing exceptionally well with her weight loss!!!

WELCOME BACK, BRITT!!! I didn't know if you would be back from vacation and ready to post today so I started the thread but you are welcome to it next week!!!! I congratulate you on not gaining more than 2 or 3 pounds while away and I'll bet those extra pounds are gone tomorrow!
I hope Tucker fits right into the family quickly! I need to heed my own advice and get my cat on my lap every night!! Train Tucker to jump in yours every night! Speaking of laps, isn't it NICE to actually have one???? WOW! With my panni, I hardly had any legs sticking out but now my "giant" Min Pin is able to sit comfortably in my lap in the car.
We have missed you, Britt!!!

Hi Guys!
Thanks for getting us started CeCe and welcome home Britt. We are glad to have you back with us. I hope your time away was productive and that it helped you to refocus on the important things. We all need a little "time-Out" once in a while.
I had a very busy weekend. The same old routine- yard sales and thrift store searches for replacement "things" I actually left the house Sat morning at 07:30 and didn't return till 8 pm. then my best friend "dragged" me out for some dancing till 3 am. I was one tired lady on Sunday but I managed a lot of running around the house placing this and cleaning that and my DH said last night, "it is finally looking like a home." I think that was the best compliment.
I have to say last week was not good food wise. I snacked far too often and on really bad food.....M&M peanut-and potato chips- I have to stop. I bought a scale this weekend and this morning it read 191. Which is the same as the last time I reported but I know 2 weeks ago it would have been one eighty something. I could tell in my clothes. Now...not so much.
I have to do more planning and less snacking. I think it is going to be hard this week too. It is hormone hell week. I am fighting the craving monster as we speak. It is saying, Fritos and cookies! Sometimes I wish I would dump on these things. Oh, no, not me! Even if they made me feel sort of bad, I would be the one to suffer through. It only lasts for a little while...Yep that would be me. I need to be the person that gets violently sich from carbs or sugar. The only thing that effects me now is fat. Too much fat and I am laying down for hours to fight the stomach pain and headache.
Well, I need to get back to work. I did get a refurbished computer but the darn keyboard isn't reading. I have to take it back to the shop. Maybe soon I will back on a normal routine and can post from home.
Hugs,
Valorie

Good Morning!
No our weather is nowhere near hot. It can't even be considered warm by most standards. Apparently we are going to get 8 to 12 inches of snow up in the passes tonight. I think they are still skiing up there. Summer has definitely NOT arrived in the great Northwest. It's driving me nuts because I so want to wear cute summer clothes and I can't. Went to a softball game on Saturday and was wearing a thermal shirt, thick wool sweater and a raincoat, a scarf and thermal gloves and still froze. It was a little better yesterday (another baseball game), I could even unzip my coat for a bit. Seriously it's like it's still winter here.
I did really good this week (minus the cherry pit swallowing incident) following the low carb and did all of my workouts but unfortunately it didn't show on the scale. I actually gained .8 pounds *sigh* So I'm at 153.6 this morning. This is just so frustrating to me!!! My surgeon told me to make an appointment with the nutritionist so I think I'm going to do that.
I also made appointments to do consults with a couple of plastic surgeons. I think I'm really darn close to making the decision to go under the knife again. It would at least get rid of my muffin top which drives me nuts!!! For those of you that have done a tummy tuck how much time did you have to take off work? Was it worse, the same, or easier than WLS for pain and such?
Anyway, I'm not going to let this get me down, I'll keep trucking along with low carb, tracking my food, and doing my work outs. At least I am still below the hated 155
Have a fabulous week everyone!!!

Hello Ladies (and Gents)
You gals did awesome with keeping the weekly weigh in going - you all ROCK. I did lurk a bit. But cannot wait to hear from all of you this week to catch up with my November buddies
.
I've missed each of you. I feel rested and re-energized to move forward on my journey. I just got back from vacation in Disney with my family and we had a *wonderful* time. It was hot but it wasn't crowded which was terrific. I think the longest we waited was 15 maybe 20 minutes - most were 5 minute waits. Ideal with three little princesses. We enjoyed the pool everyday. Last time I worked out everyday on vacation and gained 6 pounds. This time I didn't work out and thought I gained about 10 pounds to come home and find out I only gained 3, ( go figure
) and that was at night after eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. This morning it was only 2 pounds. I really find it hard eating away on vacation. I do not get sick ... so I have to pay attention and make the best choices I can. Overall I am happy with how I did.
Still my scale is still higher than I want it to be. I am going to truly work at getting back to my goal weight and work at finding my caloric *sweet spot* for maintaining. I really haven't done that -since I reached goal - I am DETERMINED to get back to goal and maintain my goal weight.
I have decided to allow myself a 5 pound weight fluctuation from goal. I know that weight fluctuation is normal. So as long as I am 147 or lower I am OK with that. My goal is 142. I was going to try to go lower but I need to maintain my 142 first.
I am stressed over these gas prices and everything else that is on the rise. I'll keep playing lotto
it is crazy
- but seriously... I realized that this stress has lead to some of my grazing and weight gain.
We are getting a kitten today. I think Cece (????) you talked about wanted to go to the fridge one night but the cat was sleeping and you didn't want to disturb the kitty. He he he. Anyway - we are getting a kitten tomorrow we named him Tucker - he is orange and white and adorable!
OK now onto business ...
Highest weight - 250.5
Lowest weight - 139
Goal weight - 142
Current weight - 150
Up / down from previous weigh in - + 8

Topic: EYE SURGERY FOR ME
Well girls I had a eye lid lift and brow lift on Thursday, I have posted some
pictures of how I looked right after surgery on my site. I had very little pain,
the pictures mind you are NOT pretty and NO makeup. I was going to have
this type of surgery even before my RYN almost two years ago, an should of had it done, but glad that I waited. My Dad is 87 and he REALLY should have had this done along time ago, but he said he is to young now to have it done. I will post some more pitures as soon as I can wear makeup and the swelling goes down. I also post some pictures of our daughter as well.
