Valorie,
Good to hear from you! Are you all settled in now? What's the latest on the insurance? Are you planning on rebulding on the property? We need updates!
Even before WLS, I wasn't able to drink a bunch of water first thing in the morning. So, I guess that didn't change. Wish I could get in so much that early!
I have a hard time going very low carb too. I notice it so quickly in my strength training! And, I like having 1/2 sweet potato or something like that at dinner to help make me feel a little full so I won't be thinking about late night snacking!

Corinna,
I think your Dr. friend is probably right because I was very settled in at around 145-148 prior to PS. I just couldn't seem to lose any more but after the LBL, I lost the 10 he removed plus more and it seems (maybe I should say "SEEMS") that not having those leftover fat cells helped. Since you plan an LBL, I think you might find the same. I know you are much younger and don't have much loose skin and leftover fat cells living in that skin but I think it will make a difference.
I have the same issue with water intake at times too. I seem to do better being able to get more in if I'm working out really hard and sweating but just trying to force it at home does not agree with me. Your plan to space it out is a good one.
I do plan on joining in on the accountability posts now. Last week was busy, I wasn't tracking very well and my carbs were up there. Hopefully, that was hormonal and not habit! Last night I was invited to dinner with some women from the gym I did teach at and have just accepted a new position with. Well, that dinner opened a big can of worms for me and I'm having trouble digesting those worms!!!! Let's just say that my interpretation of how things are going there led to stress and now I'm not sure I want to go back there at all. I'm taking a few days to think about it because I have a long history with the aerobics team boss and already knew that there would be plenty of drama if I allowed myself to get sucked in. It seems I've been sucked in without even knowing it and I want out before I'm holding on by just the fingernails. So, today I've been tracking my food like crazy, talking to myself, emailing a close and trusted friend who has absolutely nothing to do with that gym and lives 500 miles away and trying not to internalize negatively as is my habit!!! I really need the accountability thread this week!!
My weight is 129.50 again. Almost all of last week it was that or 129.75. Last Monday it did hit 130.something. So, I'm maintaining pretty darn well despite my behavior. I'm determined to keep my carbs lower but found out some of my Panera choices are pretty darned bad as far as calories and even carbs! And, that's the egg dish!!
I will write back tonight with my totals for today.

LOL...I had this feeling that just as I was posting someone else was too
I thought my calories would be higher with low carb but they don't end up there. Usually because meat fills me up really fast so I just don't eat that much of it. I do have to watch nuts because I can eat a lot of them and those calories add up FAST!!! And for the most part I'm not hungry as often so that helps me too. I found I couldn't keep my calories under 1500 when I wasn't doing low carb. I guess it's different for everyone, eh?
Have another great week!!

Corinna,
Looks like we were typing the weekly post at about the same time!
I have never heard anyone else getting sick from water! I usually down about 40 oz in my first hour after waking with no problems at all. I try to start with 40 and get in another 40 or more during the day. Wow, makes me wonder why it is causing you problems.
You have done a great job of sticking to the low carb for a month! I can't do it anymore. I can't keep my calories down if I do low carb. Most of the lower carb stuff (meat and cheese) has way more fat than I can handle. Plus low carb makes me crave the fatty stuff- like tuna salad and steak! I have to stick to strick calorie counting. 1000 to 1400 per day, period.
Hugs,
Valorie

Topic: Weekly Weigh IN
Hi guys!
I am surprised to be the first to post today but I will gladly do it! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have been busy, busy, busy but who hasn't right?
I vowed last week to start fresh and get back on track. I was mostly good last week and the scale rewarded my efforts. Since I had a good week last week, I promise myself to keep on track. I am logging on fitday and I am determined to get back to the gym 3 times this week. My body will probably hate me but in the long run, it will get better.
this weeks stats:
Beginning weight: 349 at heaviest
last post: 192
today: 188
Loss: 4 lbs!!!!! YEAH ME!!!!
finally seeing the number change definately helps the motivation.
So how was your week?
Hugs,
Valorie

Topic: Weekly Weigh-In
Good Monday Morning to everyone!
Even though I have nothing good to report I thought I'd start this thread since it's where I put my goals down for the week
Once again I'm still stuck at 155. It makes me want to stomp my feet and whine...alot. Especially because I was so good this week (except one day and even that day I didn't go nuts****ep telling myself to forget the whole scale thing and just keep doing what I'm doing and not worry about it. My body obviously does NOT want to drop anymore weight. I actually had a Dr friend tell me that it's very likely that the fat I'm trying to loose now is not in accessible places anymore. It's not surrounding muscle but is trapped in my excess saggy skin and dieting and exercising really aren't going to be able to do anything about it. No idea if that's true but I'm getting the feeling that it just might be. I've been doing the low carb thing for over a month now with absolutely no change. Anyway, I will keep up the low carb, tracking all my food and exercising because if nothing else it makes me feel better and does keep me away from the high carb snacks I love so much.
So my mini goal for last week was to up my water intake significantly, which I did but discovered that if I forced too much in a short period of time it would make me miserably sick. I don't know if anyone else has ever experienced this but it was like I was dumping. It was NOT fun either time I did it. So while I do want to keep my water intake up my new goal is to drink 16 oz of water every two hours during the day. Hopefully spreading it out will help and I'll still get the water in.
My new long term goal is to maintain my weight between 150-155.
Hope everyone has a great week! And it would be awesome if more of you joined us in our accountability posts each night. I look forward to it everyday even when I haven't done so well. It helps keep me on track so much to know I'm going to be reporting in!!

Little late posting but better late than never
1. 1086 calories, 29 g carbs, 76 gram protien
2. nothing
3. no major challenges or successes today
4. 50 oz.
5. none
6. drink more water - did even better today, especially for a weekend day. But I've really got to be careful. If I drink too much in any one period I actually do make myself sick. Like dumping sick. It's the oddest thing. has anyone else had that issue?
7. get to 142. Kept my carbs down again and calories were in a good range. Needed more protien though.
8. The water issue is my big thing right now. I think I need to change my goal to drinking a specific number of ounzes per hour and keep that number reasonable. I was miserable for about two hours yesterday after drinking 40 oz in about two hours.

Hope you don't mind Britt but I wanted to post.
1) still not counting but I plan to next week.
2) No exercise today
3) I am happy to report that I did meet my goal of 5 times exercising this week.
4) 95 ounces
5) Took all my vitamens
6) Try to find exercises that I can do that don't aggravate my fibro.
7) Stay in my skinny clothes
8) Not a bad week. I need to find some time to prepare some leftovers, it's very hard to eat on the go all of the time. I had cheese and turkey jerky for supper 3 times last week.
