Shawn,
Shame on me for not taking the time to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your "give yourself credit" posts over the weekend!!! I smiled and smiled reading them and am so HAPPY that you are giving yourself credit! YES, YEA YOU!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing! Even on our worst days, there are things we can and should give ourselves credit for! In fact, those are the days we really need to pat ourselves on the back for the positives!
I'm going to start a "give yourself credit" post today so I hope to see your name on it!1

Britt,
I know you aren't happy with maintaining right now but at least you didn't go UP!!!!! So, that's positive and give yourself credit for that!
I, on the other hand, did go up. I'm 132 today but I think what I'm going to start doing is weighing each day, adding them up and dividing by 7 and getting an average for the week. That's what I used to do (my friend in Ct. has done this for years) and it works. At the end of the month, you add the weekly averages and divide and get a monthly average. Then you can really see if you are going in the right direction.
I know I haven't posted in the last few days but I've actually done pretty darned well. I have been planning, staying out of restaurants and having some good conversations with myself (fighting back with those sabotaging thoughts!).
Just want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to Shawn who has posted some GREAT "give yourself credit" posts. If you haven't read them, go and check them out. Shawn, I am so impressed! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! You are inspiring me!

I truly feel your pain Debbie... I have gained back about 20 pounds myself.... It is a hard thing to go through... I am so terrified of going back over the 300 pound mark again.... Anything you can get I would take.... I can't even imagine how hard it must be to re-locate after RNY.... I know most dr's won't take your case if they didn't do your surgery.... I don't know what advice to give you other than to keep calling, keep trying and eventually you will hopefully find a doctor to take your case.... I will keep you in my prayers that you get the support and the help that you need....
HUGS,
Shawn M.
Topic: Encouragment needed
I am 1 and 1/2 years post op RNY and I am having a hard time. I had surgery in NC but my husband was relocated to NH. I moved two weeks after my surgery. I do not have a doctor here because none of them would take me because I did not have the surgery with them. My problem now is GI related. Also, I am very anemic and vitamin deficient. I have fibromyalgia and lost 80 pounds. My goal was 100 pounds. I have gained back 20 pounds and am so upset about it. I finally got a call from an obesity weight loss center to meet with their Physician's Assistant. I jumped at that opportunity. She prescribed an iron pill that will be easy on my stomach. She told me how much vitamins I should be taking. I am so afraid of gaining the weight back. I have no energy to exercise or walk due to the anemia. Does anyone have any encouraging words? Any suggestions to get back on track?

I got another one.....
We had a huge party today for our youth pastor and his wife... They are leaving our church and moving across the state for a new church... It was a sad day, but I have to say......
I DID NOT have any cake!!!!!!! I ate some pulled pork and some salad and that was it.... I was soooo proud of myself with all the choices of food and goodies that were there..... YEAH ME!!!!!!!
PLUS I walked to the party instead of driving (about 1/2 a mile each way).....
Another Yeah Me!!!!!
Just had to share....
HUgS to ALL,

1. I chose eggs for breakfast over a bowl of cereal or a bagel with cream cheese.
2. I have been resisting the 7 dozen cookies that I made for the kids the other day. They have been calling my name, but I have not had ANY!!!!!
3. The scale has not moved up in 3 days!!!! It hasn't gone down, but at least it has stopped going up.....
4. I have resisted my morning and afternoon munchies and replaced my nighttime munchies with fresh veggies!!!!
HUGS to All,
Shawn M.
