Topic: RE: Wendy's Chili
Linda,
I like Chili - mine and Wendy's - but I can't imagine eating it almost every day!!! Now, watermelon - yes, I could eat it 3 times a day!!!
I'm VERY impressed that you never gain weight!! Sounds like you do a good job with portion control! If I thought Wendy's chili would do that for me, I'd be there with bells on to buy a week's supply! Good to see you here, Linda! Hope you'll be back!

Wanda,
I've been wondering what you've been up to and now I know! WORKING HARD!
I hope you pat yourself on the back all evening - that will keep you from reaching for snacks!!!!
You guys are doing so great today! I had my healthy dinner but I took a few bites too many as usual. I need to measure out my food and keep it on the counter. I had some on the table so my husband could get seconds but I was the one who got an extra spoonful!!! Healthy or not, eating too much isn't good! Overall though I can tell I'm doing better. I don't feel bloated and I sure am peeing a lot!11

Topic: Wendy's Chili
One of the first things I could eat after the surgery was chili. Would you believe that after all this time - I eat Wendy's Chili almost every day? I keep a supply on hand for a quick snack or a meal. I don't know if it's the chili, but I never gain weight, I never lack protein and I love the stuff. Before my surgery, I never liked chili, now I crave it!
Anyone else like chili?

Egads, I know exactly how you feel. I've made 2 trips to a PS and can't make up my mind what to do. It's a lot of money for a facelift, neck lift and upper and lower eyes. It's purely vain, but every time I look in the mirror I feel so sad. When I was fat my skin was perfect, now I'm thin and look like I'm 90 years old. I really think I deserve to look and feel better on the outside after being brave enough to fix the inside. That's how I feel, and I'm going to go for it!

Ok, I'll play:
I give myself credit for:
*Drinking a gallon of water today
*having a great workout at the gym this morning
*Planning my food and not varying from the plan (first time in MONTHS!)
*Passing up the birthday cake at work
*Ordering a new fitness book
*Taking all of my vitamins
*Cooking four fish filets to give me quick meals through the week
I guess I did more good things than I thought! W
Wishing you a successful day!
Wanda

1. I have drank a ton of water today instead of diet pop.
2. I had the munchies for cookies/crackers but had some shrimp instead
3. I had a yogurt for breakfast when I really wanted to eat that sugary cereal that the kids were eating.
4. I didn't graze on "low cal" junk food at all today!
5. I have really focused on protein today.
Hope you all have plenty to "give yourself credit" for today!!!!!
HUGS to ALL,
Shawn M.

Topic: RE: Encouragment needed
Hi Debbie!!
Welcome to the november board! We're happy to offer encouragement!
I'm really surprised to hear that no doctor would take you. It's not like you went out of the country and had surgery...you were relocated. It just seems odd that no one would be willing to see you. Anyway, you didn't mention what your dietician recommended for you to take for iron but my surgeon is a proponent of VitronC. I can't take the average run of the mill iron supplement because it does really upset my stomach but the vitronC doesn't at all. Also, I'm not sure if you have a whole foods market near you but they have an iron supplement that is made up of all natural foods. I take that as well (because I have to order the Vitron C and am too lazy) and it doesn't upset my stomach at all. My surgeon also has me taking a B50 complex, 1000mg of B12 (three/week, every day if you can only get 500mg), 500 mg calcium, 4000 IU of vitamin D, and a multi vitamin. This is what he prescribes to all of his patients. The few months I got lax about taking them was the only time my blood work came back with lower numbers so I know they help. The vitamin B especially will help with energy!! And protien, between the food I eat and protien shakes he wants me near the 100 grams per day mark.
To combat weight gain I've had to go to planning my meals and tracking my food diligently! I also maintain a fairly low carb diet (30 grams per day) most of the time. It helps to come on this board too. We have accountability posts which totally help keep me in line when I'm tempted because I know I'll have to report it later. Also we're reading the Beck Diet Solution book together and having a weekly chat about it which you are more than welcome to join!
Well, I hope that helps a bit.

Happy Monday to you, gang! So, how was your weekend and how's your Monday going? Did you fight against those sabotaging thoughts? Did you write down and/or review those weight loss advantages cards? Mine are right by the computer and by the bed but I need one in my purse and on my bathroom mirror. I need them tattooed on my body or have my fridge require I read them before opening!
I'm patting myself on the back for giving up my no sugar added ice cream. If Britt could give up her coffee creamer, I can give up my ice cream. At this point, my negotiations with myself resulted in giving it up except for very special occasions like my birthday or Christmas (anniversary, etc!!!). That's the deal I've made with myself so I have to hold up my end and fight the side of CeCe when CeCe The Sabotager raises her evil head!
I'm giving myself credit for planning and cooking at home the whole weekend. We had some good healthy meals and as much as I do enjoy eating out, I have to admit I thought my meals were tastier and I know they were healthier. My husband complimented me many times. Last night I prepared most of tonight's meal, another thing that really helps me so that I'm not tempted to grab just anything.
I'm giving myself credit for tackling some chores that are NO fun but need doing! We cleaned the fridge from top to bottom yesterday and I took a good inventory of what we have and what needs to be used.
I give myself credit for buying yummy fresh veggies today to be used this week.
I give myself credit for walking by LOTS of treats over the weekend and today and not buying them!
I give myself credit for exercising over the weekend and teaching 2 classes this morning (strength and Spinning) and getting in a good workout myself!
I give myself credit for not feeling depressed when my weight went up this morning. I know it is TEMPORARY and I know that I can make good choices this week and I WILL!
What are you giving yourself credit for? Let's hear it!
