Hi Darnell. Welcome! I agree with Christy. In addition, I would like to say that God made us all different. We aren't going to have the exact same journey, so don't be too hard on yourself. Just do what you know is right and the rest will take care of itself. For me exercise plays a huge role. When I don't exercise it's harder for me to stay on track with my eating. Plus exercise burns calories and speeds up the metabolism. Good luck to you and we hope to hear more from you. Getting plugged into a support group like this one increases your chances for long term success. Wanda

Hello, I noticed from your profile that you are from Louisville. I am relocating with my family to Louisville in a little less than too weeks. Just thought I would mention that. Congrats on your 90 lbs loss. That is such a success. The weight loss for the first 12-18 months is related to the tool. You CAN still lose weight after that time period, it is just mostly related to what you do. My sister in law had surgery 3 years ago, lost 70 lbs the first year and the remaining 50 lbs over the course of the next two years. She was a very slow loser but the point is she eventually got the weight off and has maintained it. We all lose at such different rates, it is so hard to compare. Here are the things I feel have helped me: 1. Protein - I get about 100 grams a day but no less than 80. 2. 80 oz of water/liquid a day. 3. Calories-No more than 1200 per day. 4. Eating Habits-I always eat my protein first, vegtables second and then fruit if I can tolerate at that point. 5. Snacking-In order to avoid avoid snacking, I must sit down and have actual meals (small ones) to avoid snacking throughout the day. I hope this helps some. HUGS, Christy

Wow! What a great picture! I am waiting until next year and hopefully we will get a family picture done then. Gotta get some meat on my bones first.

Slow loser that is, I am 13months out and have only lost 90 pounds is that slow or what? I have read that some has lost 100 plus. My problem is that nothing ever did or does make me sick. I have stoped drinking while i eat to just poping a couple of grapes in my mouth after I eat. The scale did move some so I guess I am on the right track again. Let me know some other things I can do to get this weight off fast. I have heard that after 18 months you dont lose anymore or none..Tell me if it is true or not.

Thanks Naomi!!! I have never been there that long except for one time before when I went in for chest pain and that was because they wanted to watch me for like 12 hours or more... But I was being taken care of that time.... This time I sat waiting with nothing for about 6 - 7 hours.... The weather here created lots of accidents and stuff and just loaded up the ER and all the ambulances kept coming in with more "urgent" cases... So I kept getting put on hold to get taken back.... What a time it was... I felt bad for hubby cuz he had to go to work half an hour after we got back.... poor baby.... LOL.... HUgs, Shawn M.
