I have taken my B-Complex, 2-Vitamins a day, B-12, Nican/Biotin every day but I have only taken about 7-Calcium pills since my surgery day. I will start taking my calcium everyday now. Pattie

I have done exactly the same thing, so you are not alone. Try not to be so hard on yourself. You recognized it, and now you can make a choice to do something about it. I know how uncomfortable the sweats can be. It used to be if I'd eat sugar I would sweat really bad. Since I have had my revision, I don't dump on sugar anymore. But, if I eat too much (like a whole box of Jr. Mints -YIKES!) I will start to feel my cheeks get hot and a bit of a glow come on. Then I stop. How are you doing now?

Alan, I'm so glad that you made it through surgery ok. Don't be disappointed with the 11 pounds. They took a little less than 4 pounds on me and it made a world of difference! It doesn't sound like much, but it will look like alot! Happy healing. Take good care of yourself! Wanda

Everything went well, surgery took a total of 6 hours. PS did the skin removal first, then my WLS came in and did the hernia repair, and they both did the closing. They said it all went well no complications. I expected to wake up with a boat load of staples or stitches, but instead they glued me back together, the only stitches I have are the ones holding my 2 drains in place. I also have some kinda bulb, filled with pain meds, it has a small tube that delivers pain meds right to the incision line. The worst part of it was having a good bit of chest congestion that has to be coughed up, and that hurts like a sombeach. I was a little disappointed in the weight of skin he removed, his estimate was 15-25 pounds of skin, but ended up only being 11 pounds of skin. He said I already lost the fat out of it and skin doesn't weigh that much. Overall I am very happy the way it looks.

It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't had to be out of commission for the plastic surgery, then the capsular contracture, and now one more surgery planned to fix my breasts. It seems like I'm always sitting on my butt waiting to heal. Did I tell you that I drove to Orlando to have my plastic surgeon look at my hand? He used to be a hand specialist. He thinks the nerves will regenerate and I will get feeling back. You know what is bothering me too is the lack of insurance coverage! Our plan really stinks and there isn't a provider in the town where we live. The hospital wasn't covered and we have a $5,000 deductable anyway. I feel guilty about causing such an expensive stupid accident. Oh well. Nothing I can do about it now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Wanda

There's my little friend Christy! Where have you been, girl?! I miss you when you are gone. How is everything in your life? To answer your questions...I will have the stitches taken out on Tuesday if all goes well. I have a feeling I will feel much more normal after that. I do have pain medication, but I didn't have much time to take it. The next morning I was the designated driver for Randy's GI scope. He was under anesthesia for the procedure so he couldn't drive. I had to wait in the waiting room for hours with my hand throbbing. Then I had an unemployment hearing for a former employee...then I had a budget meeting with my boss...and on and on. I didn't have time to not have my wits about me. At this point I don't have pain until I forget and use my hand. I do that all the time! I'm fine, really. I just felt a little whiney yesterday morning. Hope all is well with you. Keep in touch! Wanda

CeCe, I can type with my right hand and left thumb. I'm slow, but I get it done. I have to proof read carefully though! It's hard to say exactly what happened. I was holding the hedge trimmers with my right hand. It was on with the blades moving. It started to slip and I tried to grab it with my left hand and stuck my fingers in the blades. Stupid! To answer your question about the injury...you know how the blades of a hedge trimmer are jagged? To cut through limbs and twigs the jagged blades move forward and backward until the branches or limbs are sawed off? Now picture my fingers as the branch. Jagged cuts caused the flesh to mushroom out. It's not like a clean slice with a knife. I complain about the stitch job of the ER doctor but I didn't give him much to work with.
