WTG! I know I couldn't do an extra day of liquids. I have considered extending day 4 and 5 though. We will see what kind of progress the scale shows on Friday. The firm and solid protein days don't seem as bad. Heck, I am not a veggie or fruit eater anyway. I have to make myself eat them. So basically protein is all I SHOULD be eating anyway. I just have to stay away from the grain carbs- like triscuits and oatmeal. Those are my downfall. Anyway, we will see what Friday brings. If I am happy, then I think I will continue to eat this way for a few more days before adding back any veggies or fruits. Hugs, Valorie

Hey Valorie, Today is day 3 for my and I ma doing another LIQUID day - personally I find it easier. Tomorrow I will move onto Soft protein. I have to plan out my day and I am going to look for some *new* things to try out. Thanks for the recipe! I am obessed with the scale. The only days I don't step on it is when I am away from home (On vacation) Eben then I get on the scale there and get a # so I can gauge myself while away. I AM NUTS! But if i didn't weigh daily - I'd be in real trouble - I know me! HAVE A GREAT DAY 4 TODAY! i HOPE YOU SEE A *H*U*G*E drop Friday ! I will end this test Saturday now - since I've added the extra day of liquids! hugs, Britt

The scale hasn't moved. I promised myself this morning, after weigh in, that I will not get back on the scale till Friday morning. I will be done with my 5 days. You and I are alike in our obsession to weigh every day. I really need to quit but....you know how that goes. I am determined not to weigh in the morning. We will see if I can get out of the house without stepping on. Yes, the tuna patties recipe is on the 5dpt site. Try them tomorrow. If you are like me, you have everything you need in the house. I made a double batch. 2 cans tuna-drained 4 tbs parmesan cheese 2 eggs- I used egg beaters-1/2 cup 2 tbs mayo onion powder garlic powder salt and pepper and 2 tbs of flax seed- If you like onion and celery- add 1/4 cup of each. Fry in olive oil or pam-I used pam and they were great. Just brown on both sides- should make 8 patties. Tomorrow I am making one of the chicken recipes. I think I like this plan because I get to cook! If you can't tell, it is one of my favorite things to do. I have really gotten away from cooking and I miss it. I think it helps to satisfy me, mentally as well as the physical hunger. Do you have an eating plan or menu for day 3? I hope you have fun with it like I am. It really helps take the edge off. Hugs, Valorie

Today is day 3 of the 5dpt for me. I will say today has been a struggle. My hunger is just overwhelming. I have fought hard to stay on track and so far, so good. I have eaten all day but only the soft proteins on the plan. They said eat all you want, so I am definitely putting this to the test. My luck will have me gaining weight on this plan. Well, they say it isn't really for weight loss but to reestablish good habits. A girl can hope for both, right? I highly recommend the Tuna Parmesan Patty recipe. It is really good! I made them last night and brought them into the office today for snacks. Good thing too because there is a homemade yellow cake with chocolate icing sitting on the front desk today. The patties have really saved me from a) eating the cake and/or b) smacking the person who brought the cake. Which in turn would lead to C) immediate loss of job and final result D) not being able to afford to eat at all. Guess option B could really further my weight loss! Anyway I digress, back to the recipe. The only thing I would do different in the future would be to add some chopped onions and celery. These will make the recipe complete. They are very similar to salmon patties. The parmesan cheese takes away the "fishy" taste. I give it a definite Britt, and anyone else working the 5dpt, I hope you are doing well. Remember, 5 days is NOTHING! Let me know how you are doing. Hugs, Valorie

Well, today was a BIG day for me! I went back to work! First time in nearly 5 months! I am doing 4 hour days this week, and then evaluate at the end of the week whether i'll go back to full time or one more week at 1/2 time. Speaking of swell hell, I lived it last week with my severe pain and swelling. I have no idea what it was from, except I have a theory. I think I go****er seeping into the tube port hole when I took a bath. I used a waterproof bandaid over it, but now in hindsight, I think waterproof means that the bandaid won't come off in water, not keeps water out. So I think it got irritated, started to swell to get rid of the irritation, and the swelling caused the pain, and the oozing. By yesterday, I was back to normal, no pain (essentially), and no swelling. The oozing slowed down alot. So I decided to go to work today. The movement irritated my port area, and the oozing is back, along with some localized pain, but not that bad. The swelling isn't too bad. I will keep an ice pack with me and use it throughout the day. Along with my episode last week, I also must have gotten a touch of that flu. I was dry heaving for two days and I lost 2 pounds. Something I didn't need to do. But I gained one back, but I'm down one pound net. So here are the stats Starting weight 202 Last week = 112 This week = 111 Loss this week = -1 Total loss = 89 Current BMI = 19.1
