Val,
I had to laugh when you said your hubby hid your scale!! I have one of those huge standing medical scales. In the past, my husband as used a cord to tie it up in such a way that I can't use it!!! It's so silly that the Scale Monster has such power, isn't it?!

Trudy,
I'm very sorry to hear about the hysterectomy! Too bad you couldn't have had that done when you had the LBL (I know it would have meant 2 surgeons in there but still!). Darn! Just when you are recovered from the LBL! Do you have any idea how the hysterectomy will be done? Mine was open - years ago - I had one of those horrible IUD's that there was a lawsuit about.
Congrats on making the cut for the interivew! How do you and the family feel about relocating? Sounds exciting for your career. How many hours is that from your present location. I know that Texas is so big that the climate can vary (still hot, I'm sure!) so will there be a change in weather?
By the way, I'm still adjusting to your new avatar! I have to think "who is that?" every time!!! Just in case anyone wonders why I changed to a more "distant" view, it's because my avatar appears on my surgeons site and not everyone knows I've had surgery so I thought I would be less recognizable on there.
Have a great week, Trudy!

Wanda,
I wish I could go square dancing in your place. You can have the speaking gig, but dancing of any kind is right up my alley. Let go of your preconceived notions about what it will be like and I bet you will enjoy yourself. No one will expect you to be perfect...that is probably the reason your boss is having you do it. Out of your element and you will have to trust someone else for instructions. Just have fun! Go in with a smile on your face and refuse to let it fall. You can do this!
Hugs,
Valorie

Oh Britt,
No one here thinks you are a whiner! You are probably the least whiny of us all. You are our strong, resiliant Britt and we LOVE YOU! Remember that when you feel down.

Good Job Shawn!
3 lbs is great for 1 week. You must have been really focused to get there.
Your scrapbook has inspired me to make a photo album for myself. I plan on getting it together this weekend. I have to select my pics and get them developed. I think it is a wonderful idea. It will help with the hard days to see how far we have come.
Again, you Rock with 3 lbs. You will get back to where you were and lose more. I know you can do it.
Keep on rocking.

Trudy,
So sorry to hear about your impending surgery. I know you are not wanting to go through any more.
Sounds like you really have a lot on your plate,
no pun intended. Health, interviewing, possible moving of family. My best advice to you is don't stress the scale. Just concentrate on trying to eat healthy foods and get in as much water as you can. You will be fine...just do some stress control. You have to give yourself permission to be less than PERFECT.
Have a great week.....I am sending some anti stress vibes your direction!
Hugs,
Valorie

AGH! I've been MIA for a couple weeks too. Things are SO hectic at work right now. And on the homefront, things have been better. I've been dealing with the emotional and social fallout of living with a recovering alcoholic. Bless his heart, my hubby has his heart in the right place, but I had no idea the things I would be made to endure because of his disease. I've been so overwhelmed with him and the situation, my kids and their behavioral issues and the overload at work that I am becoming unproductive in all areas of my life. I've been seeing my therapist weekly to try to deal with things, and that helps. But I just have to get through it right now.
She says she is not surprised I'm feeling this way because now that I'm feeling better physically, and back to work, things are returning to "normal" and all the concessions I was getting at home from my illness are out the window now that Mom is BACK! So, it has not been a slow transition into working life, and life as normal. It's been a huge slap in the face. Anyway, I'm not complaining. I'm just happy to be alive and able to have these feelings again. But I have to deal with it, just the same.
I've been doing good with my eating. I slipped a bit last week, but I'm up again this week. I'm holding at 114 pretty easily now. So I'm happy with that for now.
I'm sorry to hear everyone who is having such a difficult time. It must be the passing of winter and on to spring. Time to clear things out and move on afresh. Good luck to you all.

True confession here...I deserve to weigh 180 with how I've been eating. I haven't bothered to plan meals, count anything, or even drink water for a couple of months now. I haven't exercised since I injured my hand. I just kind of decided that until I reach 140, I wasn't going to worry about it. Well...I'm almost there. I leave for Texas and Arizona on Friday. When I get back, I'll behave myself--I hope! I think I need to eat to get through this dang public speaking gig I allowed myself to be saddled with!
I think I'm more disturbed about the mandatory square dancing than the public speaking! Neither one sounds like a good time to me.
Hope I don't come back fired!
Have a good week!
Wanda

I just told Randy the same thing! I had another twelve hour day and it looks like the rest of my week will be the same. I AM earning that big 16% raise!
I'm dealing with OSHA inspectors tomorrow so the fun isn't over yet! I can't wait until I can semi-retire...
