Checkin' In

We've been in Alabama for Thanksgiving and came back this past weekend. Seems we've been running'round ever since, trying to play catch-up.

Thankgiving was fine.  We never told my mother-in-law about my WLS. She just wouldn't get it and what's the point really?  She's 84, a total worry wart, and it would just shake her up too much.

The only problem about not coming "clean" is that she is such a food pusher! Always has been and always will be.  I mean, we don't do anything but eat, sit, and talk about what and when we'll eat next.  I had to get out of the house... it was a matter of maintaining sanity.

She tells me I don't eat enough... we fight over it (sarcastically, but there's truth in it) and it's a game we play meal-to-meal.  I just hate that it happens in front of my 4 year old.  :(

I think by the end of the trip we were successful in telling her to relax with the food pushing -- we reminded her of how happy she is that I am healthier and what it takes nutritionally to go further and/or stay where I am weight/health-wise.  She's getting, s-l-o-w-l-y... bless her heart.

Hope everyone had a lot to be thankful for... I know I did.

Holiday is over... back to the gym today!

Donna :)

Glad to hear your Thanksgiving was fine.... Sorry you had to go through all that with your MIL, at least she is starting to "get it".... I know so many people like that, and I don't think they will ever change....

She should not be doing stuff like that in front of your 4 year old either.... She should think of that before she starts being pushy with the food.....

Personally I didn't eat much, but I still over ate and I ended up getting sick from all I ate.... My day was miserable.... My DIL was almost 2 hours late showing up with my grandson, my 17 year old ended up staying at his cousins house until 10:30 pm, I dropped half the mashed potatoes on the floor and then proceeded to drop half the stuffing on the floor too......  Needless to say I did my share of crying that day, but I guess it was just a typical day for me lately..... Oh well......

I am just thankful that my son (the one in Iraq), is still safe and healthy.....

Well, back to the laundry.... Hope you have a great day....

Hugs,
