Hey there Strangers!!!!!!  Sorry I have been MIA, but I have had a ton going on..... Actually spent a month in the hospital for my depression, and I am still working on it with my doctor......  Anyway, I thought I would check in... Not proud of my progress, but I will report anyway....

Starting weight - 309

Lowest weight - 177

Current weight - 223

It's been a rough road lately needless to say.... Although my weight has at least been pretty much the same for the past few months

I have to admit that I did trade my food addiction for another addiction..... Alcohol....  It has been pretty bad, but I did go to my first AA meeting last week and I have been clean and sober since 10/17/08.....

Hope to get back to the board and talking to everyone again.....

Hugs to ALL,

Shawn M.

*hugs* to you too!

I'm glad to see you post and very happy to see you taking care of you!  It's so important!!

Congrats on being C&S over 6 weeks now!  You'll battle it and win... If you can be a Mom to 6 kids, you'll beat this too.

Donna :)

Thanks so much Donna......  I am really having a rough time of it too....  I wanted a drink so bad yesterday... But instead I ate.... I just keep trading one addiction for another....uuuugggghhhhh...... At least, even with all the eating I have been doing the past 6 weeks or more, my weight has held steady.... now if I can just eat one less snack a day, I may start to lose again....  I just feel like such a failure at everything I do lately..... Well, anyway..... thanks again... I appreciate your encouragement and support....

For the last several weeks I haven't bothered getting on the scale because my weight has stayed the same for the last 4 months or more. My scale numbers really don't bother me much anymore; I just know how I feel and how my clothing fit, and that is good enough for me. A little over a month ago I changed my workout routine and started using free weights instead of the Nautilus machines. I am trying to add more muscle mass and since muscle weighs more I figured I would gain weight and lose more inches like I have in the past. The other day my wife asked me if I had weighed lately because she said I looked like I have lost more weight, so I decided to pull out the scale and weigh. To my amazement I dropped 10 more pounds since the last time I weighed. That's 36 pounds below the goal weight my doctor set for me and I have 15 pounds to lose to reach my new personal goal weight of 199. With the 10 pound drop in weight changed my BMI to 29.1 and I am no longer obese I am overweight.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and hope you all have a good week. Alan
