I just found out that I have Osteopenia. Osteopenia is a pre-cursor to Osteoporosis. Treatment is calcium, vitamin D, and weight bearing exercises. I do all that already! I guess I have more malabsorption than I think. I've had anemia and now this.
Be sure you keep up with your vitamins and exercise! I would hate to think where I would be if I wasn't taking good care of myself!

bummer!!! I'm sorry to hear that.
I had a friend mention something interesting to me regarding "weight bearing" the other day. She said that our bones probably got very strong simply because we were "bearing" so much extra weight on our frames. Now that we don't have that our bones are probably going to loose density more than usual. Made a lot of sense to me and made me redouble my calcium/vit D supplement efforts which are the ones I tend to get lax on.
Yep...gotta keep up on all those supplements!!!

Do you know Michele (Vitalady.com)? She says that we need a minimum of 2400 mg of calcium citrate per day. That would be 6 of the Bariatric Advantage. I have only been taking three per day. She has helped a lot of people on the Grads board get their labs back to normal. I'm going to follow whatever she comes up with after reviewing my labs and see where we go from there.
