Me Again
Hi guys!!
I must admit that I haven't been on here because I've been addicted to the PS forum lately. But I agree with all your in your posts to Shawn that we really need to support each other on this forum.
So here's my update. I went and did it! I had a lower body lift and breast augmentation on Aug 18th. I'm still at home recovering but am working from home (thank goodness for an awesome boss who will let me do that). Surgery went well but I feel like my recovery is DRAGGING. I really felt like I'd be doing MUCH better by now. I was back at work the second week after my RNY. I turned the corner this weekend and am doing much better but those first two weeks were just killer. Not so much pain as just being constantly uncomfortable and unable to do anything. Oh and I itch like crazy...ug!
Now for the great part. I LOVE my new body. I still have swelling, of course, but I have a flat tummy...flat...like a board, not even a warped board...flat...no bumps, lumps, flabby ickiness...FLAT. I can't quite believe it (can you tell?). Actually I lied, I do have bumps but they are muscles...as in the six pack ab kind of muscles...woohoo! He took off almost 10 pounds of skin/fat. I haven't really seen it on the scale yet although even that is down three pounds. Most of my swelling is around the incisions on my hips...not sure why it decided to hang out there but whatever. I know I'm way lucky in that department from a lot of people. I got my drains out at about 10 days which was super nice too. I know several girls who had them in for four to six weeks...I can't even imagine. My breasts are perfect. I was really concerned about the size he recommended. I've always been quite small (thus no need for a lift thank goodness) so when he said I'd end up a large C maybe even a D in some bras I freaked a bit. But I trusted him and they look awesome. Not nearly as big as I thought and they totally fit my body (with my flat tummy...did I mention that part? :-))
I did upload some pics of my tummy from four days post op. I should have my bf takes some pictures tonight of the whole deal. I didn't want any pictures of my back because it looked like someone had used me for a punching bag. I'd never seen so many different colored bruises. They did a lot of lipo on my back and sides and my back bruised like crazy. My sides just hurt.
By the way I loved that they finally changed our forum to this format!!
I'm looking forward to getting back to real life. I'm so ready to start working out and really toning my body now that I will be able to see the difference everywhere and not just in my arms and legs. That is several weeks away yet but I'm excited for it which I definitely needed. I was loosing steam fast on the working out thing.
Okay, I think I've rambled on enough. I think about you ladies every day and even knowing that you're here is a wonderful feeling.

Thanks Shawn!
You know what is so funny. I was just having a discussion with my girlfriend yesterday about tatoos and how I've never had the guts to go get one done because of the pain factor...then I had to stop and say, doesn't that sound stupid coming from a girl who just chose to put her body through major surgery for cosmetic reasons??? lol. Anyway, it's been quite a journey but I felt like I was leaving it half done not doing the PS. BUT I didn't feel that way until I had reached my 155 plateau for 6 months. In fact, like you, although I kept saying I'd do it eventually I hadn't planned on doing PS for quite some time because it seemed so scary. Once I realized I was at the weight I was going to be I started realizing I wanted the body now too so the step to PS wasn't nearly as big as I thought it would be. Of course, as you know, I still agonized over it and it had a lot of emotions surrounding it and your post to me was incredibly helpful to me during that time, so thank you again!!!!
