Reasons I Want To Lose/Maintain Weight (Beck Diet Solution Nov. Board Discussion)

Hi, Gang, Since not that many of us have been able to join in the chats, Britt and I decided to bring the discussion to the board to augment the chats. We need ALL the support we can get so please help by listing the reasons you want to either continue to lose weight or maintain your weight loss. You don't have to have the book or even have read the book to get in on this. The book recommends writing these advantages of losing/maintaining weight on an index card and reading the card several times a day even if you have to post reminders to read it. It's really important to read it when you are facing cravings or temptations! So, let's hear some - a few or a lot - of your advantages of losing/maintaining! Here are a few of mine (there will be repeats but post YOUR reasons even if they mirror other people's): 1. I had major surgery reconfiguring my insides for life and spent thousands of dollars on reconstructive surgery to be able to change my future into something I only dreamed of before. 2. I feel happier now than I have in years and years. 3. I am no longer ashamed to walk in front of strangers or through a parking lot or cross a street feeling like people are judging me for my weight. 4. I feel NORMAL for the first time in years. 5. My self-esteem is better and will continue to improve if I use my tool wisely by eating healthy and exercising. 6. I honor myself and my second chance at life by eating healthy and maintaining weight loss. 7. I can continue to buy and wear smaller clothing and feeling good about shopping and trying on clothing. I have more clothing choices and shopping is no longer a heartbreaking, self esteem robbing process. 8. I love the feeling that my husband is proud to be seen with me even if he claims he wasn't ashamed to be seen with me before. 9. I love having my husband tell me I look beautiful. I don't remember him ever saying that before. 10. I no longer avoid family visits because of my obesity. 11. It's wonderful not to dread running into old friends and knowing they are no longer wondering why I kept gaining weight. 12. I feel like a normal sized fitness instructor. 13. I'm less self-conscious around my husband and he LIKES that! 14. I am healthier. 15. I have more energy. 16. I'm living a more active lifestyle (going to water parks, amusement parks and RIDING rides!) 17. I can shop for and WEAR swimsuits without being so self-conscious 18. I can look in a mirror without feeling shame. 19. I no longer have to worry about fitting in a restaurant booth or a movie seat 20. I can climb stairs without feeling like I'm dying!!! I have more and think of new ones constantly but you get my drift - I have a life again and I'm so thankful! CeCe

Great idea! Of course there are tons of them but here are a "few" of my top choices. 1. I get to buy normal clothes. 2. I have tons more confidence in general and everyone can see it. 3. people don't look through me anymore 4. I actually like to see pictures of myself 5. I have lots of energy 6. I can walk for hours and my feet aren't killing me 7. I can walk up hills and stairs without dying 8. I can fit in airplane seats even the middle one comfortably, movie theater seats, restaurant booths 9. I can buy rings and necklaces anywhere 10. I am much healthier 11. I can walk into an audition and know they will actually listen to me now instead of just marking me off as being another fat soprano that they'll never use. 12. I get flirted with...I love that. 13. People tell me I'm beautiful and there is no silent "if only she wasn't so heavy..." at the end of it. 14. I get to shop at Victoria Secret and buy sexy lingerie 15. I don't feel like people are watching me eat and thinking..."she's so fat, she shouldn't be eating that" 16. I just feel good about myself 17. I don't feel hopeless anymore 18. I don't feel like a failure anymore. Okay...that was more than a few but I feel every single one of them! Corinna Q

Here are the ones that I have written down so far.... But there are tons more... 1. I will look better 2. I will be more attractive to others 3. I will be able to wear smaller clothes, that I actually like 4. I won't feel so self-conscious when I am out 5. I will be in better health 6. I will have more energy 7. I will be more physically fit 8. I will do more things with my kiddos 9. I will feel more outgoing. 10. I will feel like going out of the house more. 11. I will feel more in control of my life. 12. I can shop for clothes just about anywhere 13. I don't look like a freak next to my skinny hubby anymore 14. I will have a much better outlook on life 15. I am more pleasing to be around friends and family now 16. I won't be so depressed ALL the time. HUGS to All, Shawn M.

1) my health 2) I never want to go back to OBESITY 3) I love feeling confidnet - sexy and beautiful 4) I like wearing small sizes / shopping and looking stylish 5) i can participate in life - i no longerwatch from the sidelines 6) I wear a small Victoria Secrets bikini 7) I have made exercise a part of my ddaily life 8) My husband - family - friends and *me* are so proud of my weight loss 9) I have 3 young daughters who i need to be a good example for 10) live longer 11) not be controlled by/ obsessed with food 12) mentally and phsically fit 13) I like feeling normal in society ... i no longer feel like everyone is staring at me the fatest women in the room. I like the way my boody feels in a healthy BMI range (nowadays 5 pounds really feels like 25 pounds on my smaller frame) 14) I know I can go back *there* if i do not make changes for a lifetime!!!!! thanks, Britty
