BAD Week

Just wondering in the scary economy is anyone else worried about not being able to afford vitamins down the road. I have 3 kiddies, so of course I worry about providing for them more, but I know how crappy I feel if I miss my vitamins for a day or two...so it just makes me wonder. I had a stress full week ... I get our stimulus check in the mail, so we hire a handy man to fix our wood rot, so we can attempt to sell our home, our $700 quote went to $1100. THEN He finds termites in my wood, there goes another $1000 for termite treatment & bond THEN I get a letter from the IRS saying we owe them back taxes from 2006 for $1000, which BTW we just got them paid off for back taxes owed from 2005..Hubby's job screwed up the W4 forms those 2 years. so yeah it came in 3's Ok, enough of my griping..I just had to vent, instead of turning to the chocolate that seems to keep calling me.

Julie, What a bummer. That all sounds like a bunch of poo poo that would suck to deal with! Especially the taxes. Can't they just tell you all the bad news at once? Sheesh! At least the termite issue won't come up and bite you when they do the house inspection before closing a sale. Now at least it's all finished. Anyway, feel free to gripe anytime As for the vitamins I'm not much help since I have no kids to worry about. But my advice would be to get on line and check out some of the discount vitamin sites. I save almost $30 per 5lb container on my protien powder of choice by using one of those places. They have great deals on all of it. Just make sure the shipping charges do jack the price back up to what you'd pay in the store. I hope you have a better week!! Corinna Q

Julie, It's good to hear from you even though I'm sorry you are feeling stressed. Secondly, you look wonderful! I don't know you if you've been keeping up with the posts but we have a chat scheduled for tomorrow night, 9 eastern. It's going to be on Yahoo Messenger. The price increases on everything are going to affect us all, i fear. Corinna's suggestion of finding a good source is excellent. Whatever I find at GNC, I get with my 20% card. Also, the local Vitamin Shoppe honors their online prices so I get my Coromega there at $19.99 with no shipping cost. Take care, Julie and we hope to see you more often. CeCe

((((((((((((Julie))))))))))))) I worry myself too.... I have six kids, one grown and moved out, one living with his dad, but I still have the four little ones home with me and hubby.... Hubby got laid off last February and is now officially terminated from his job and working at a grocery store making minimum wage now (At least he is working though).... We got our stimulus check last week too and had to put it into a new roof... Hubby saw the check and said.... Ohhhhh our check came... and then I had to bring him back to reality and remind him that the whole thing was gone, plus most of our tax return that we had gotten a couple months ago.... That soooo sucks that his company screwed up and it ended up costing you guys... I wish I could hit the lotto and I would help everyone on this board.... But I guess you gotta play to win right... so that will never happen... LOL.... You are so good to come here and vent instead of eating.... That is what I need to do more often... I just seem to always been in such a bad mood that I don't want to be on here every day with something new... KWIM????? Take care of yourself.. YOU are just as important as those kiddos and you have to remember that.... I am sure you will be fine and you will weather the storm, as we all will.... Times are tough, they are probably going to get tougher, but eventually there will be a sliver lining.... Just look that healthy life you have now compared to 2 years ago..... I will keep you in my prayers that you get through this all.... I know how rough it can be..... HUGS to you, Shawn M.

Shawn, I just wanted to let you know...you are more then welcome to come on this board every day and vent to us. About something new, about the same ole stuff that still driving you nuts, whatever you need to say! At least I certainly wouldn't mind and I can't imagine any one else would either! That's part of what we're here for is to support each other even if it seemingly has nothing to do with WLS. After all for most of us our entire psyche (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) is wrapped around supporting ourselves with food, worrying about our weight, freaking out if we eat badly and feeling guilty and like we have to hide it from everyone, and so on and so forth. So when anything else upsets our emotional balance food/weight issues are probably not far behind. *sigh* I wi**** wasn't the case but...all we can do is look to our network of friends and family to help us through the rough spots. Anyway, all the best to you and I applaud that you can look forward to a silver lining even if you can't see it yet. It is there! Corinna Q

Thanks Corinna!!! I guess I just feel that my days are so repetitious that I don't want to post the same thing every day... I will search for that silver lining though and try and post more..... I just don't want to seem like a constant downer that is looking for constans support (even though some days I really need it).... Thanks for the encouragement and the support... I really appreciate it.... HUGs, Shawn M.
