WEEKLY WEIGH IN/PROGRESS REPORT WEEK OF JUNE 09
Hi CeCe,
Thanks for the encouragement!
Actually, my doctor has been trying to get me to get off the diuretics (I take 3 different ones a day, really depletes my potassium) so she was a little pleased. But as of today, I have already lost 4 lbs! Mainly fluid, but at least the scale is coming down!!
I spoke with a nutritionist here at the VA where I work and she recommended 40% carbs, 40% protein, and 20% fat on a 1200-calorie diet. The carbs are no problem, the protein is a little tough to reach and the fat is way too low!! So I will eat healthy and find where my balance is. I already feel so much better, now that I am watching the carbs. She also recommended to never eat carbs alone - always eat them with protein and even a little fat. So I think I can do that. I feel in control again and I think that's better than anything.
Hope I have a great report next week!
Hugs,
Deidrah

Britt,
If I looked as good as you do in a bikini, I would go SHOPPING in it!!! Not to mention that you are about my daughter's age!!!! This old woman is lucky she has the nerve to walk around in a swimsuit regardless of incisions!!! I know you were/are considering a TT but at least that scar wouldn't show in your bikini! My poor arm scars may always be very visible but I sure love the toned arms I have now!

Good Morning!
No our weather is nowhere near hot. It can't even be considered warm by most standards. Apparently we are going to get 8 to 12 inches of snow up in the passes tonight. I think they are still skiing up there. Summer has definitely NOT arrived in the great Northwest. It's driving me nuts because I so want to wear cute summer clothes and I can't. Went to a softball game on Saturday and was wearing a thermal shirt, thick wool sweater and a raincoat, a scarf and thermal gloves and still froze. It was a little better yesterday (another baseball game), I could even unzip my coat for a bit. Seriously it's like it's still winter here.
I did really good this week (minus the cherry pit swallowing incident) following the low carb and did all of my workouts but unfortunately it didn't show on the scale. I actually gained .8 pounds *sigh* So I'm at 153.6 this morning. This is just so frustrating to me!!! My surgeon told me to make an appointment with the nutritionist so I think I'm going to do that.
I also made appointments to do consults with a couple of plastic surgeons. I think I'm really darn close to making the decision to go under the knife again. It would at least get rid of my muffin top which drives me nuts!!! For those of you that have done a tummy tuck how much time did you have to take off work? Was it worse, the same, or easier than WLS for pain and such?
Anyway, I'm not going to let this get me down, I'll keep trucking along with low carb, tracking my food, and doing my work outs. At least I am still below the hated 155
Have a fabulous week everyone!!!

Corinna,
I have a deal for you! If you'll come here and bear this heat, you can teach my classes and I'll come there and sing! We'll see who gets the most complaints! Oh, wait, that will be ME!!!
I'm glad you are still doing so well on the low carbs - that tiny little blip on the scale is just that, a blip! Keep strong!
The TT (or LBL in my case) was harder than my lap RNY but overall wasn't horrible. Wanda had the TT and she was amazing! My biggest complain was the swelling. Then I had a little necrosis because of a junction of several incision lines.
Different people heal at different rates but take off as much time as you can up to about 5 weeks. If it's a TT, it might be a little less. I was working out lightly much before that and took a 2 week trip but it does take a little time to build up your endurance. Also, get your iron level up now! Take your time in choosing a surgeon too.
