Hello, November Buddies! I know I'm a few hours early but Monday morning and afternoon are going to be very busy for me so I'm taking this opportunity to get things off the ground! I just saw Wanda's post that Britt will be back soon! Isn't that fantastic news?! Did everyone have a great weekend? How was the eating? Well, mine was grazing, eating things I had no business eating and I'm feeling it tonight! Is your weather as hot as ours here? WHEW!! Thank God for AC in cars and houses! This morning we took off for the water park. We have passes for it and an amusement park but it was too hot for that. We were there early enough to actually ride some of the water rides without waiting in line for hours! We had the best time going down huge, winding slides in inner tubes and in a rubber boat. I love the big Wave Pool but my husband won't go to the deep end and "ride" the wave! I could stay there for hours! There's also a big, winding water feature that just carries you along, I like that one too but it was crowded by the time we got there so we didn't spend as much time there as usual. I wore a tankini today and once we got there, I took off my t-shirt I wore from the parking lot. Because of my healing arm incisions, I did wrap a towel around my shoulders and arms like a shawl when I was walking from attraction to attraction but standing in line at the rides, I just tried to keep my arms close to me so I wouldn't shock anyone! The dogs had cabin fever and were giving us fits to go somewhere when we got home. It was just too hot for the Bark Park or a walk so we took them to what they know as "The Dog Store." That can be PetCo, Pet Smart or any of the local ones. They love to find "free" food under the bins or out of torn bags and they love to get treats from the clerks. This evening I grilled steaks and veggies outside and we ate sliced tomatoes (local, so hopefully we won't get sick!!!) with that and it was DELICIOUS! Funny I've never had any problem eating steak but most breads, rice and even couscous bother me! Ok, scale report! Mine is exactly the same as last week. I went up a little a couple of days but 129.50 keeps coming up on the scale. I'm happy with that. Oh, let me report a compliment from my husband today!!! At the water park we saw all types of bodies and I've always been pleasantly surprised that so many women of ample proportions would go there and walk around in their swimsuits. I used to swim in a suit plus long t-shirt as recently as last summer when I weighed around 145. I was still too self-conscious of my body! But back to my husband's compliment. When we left, he said: "You look better than 99% of the women there, including the young ones!" WOW! I've gotten more compliments from my husband in the last 6 months than I've gotten during our entire marriage! So, have you had any WOW moments lately? How are you doing on your food intake? What are your recent or ongoing challenges and what solutions have you come up with? Today we shared a lunch at the water park. My husband chose the burger over the chicken but neither were healthy! I did eat some fries but I gave him the majority of the burger and I took 1/2 of the bun off the part I did eat. I'd had a protein shake for breakfast and part of another later this afternoon so with the steak, I had plenty of protein today. Too much fat but I'll get back on track tomorrow! Preplanning my food and tracking it closely are still big hang ups for me. I do it and then I just get too lazy. I keep a running total in my head but I know it's too easy to forget something or underestimate how much I'm eating. Ok, let's hear it from the gang! CeCe

Hello Ladies (and Gents) You gals did awesome with keeping the weekly weigh in going - you all ROCK. I did lurk a bit. But cannot wait to hear from all of you this week to catch up with my November buddies . I've missed each of you. I feel rested and re-energized to move forward on my journey. I just got back from vacation in Disney with my family and we had a *wonderful* time. It was hot but it wasn't crowded which was terrific. I think the longest we waited was 15 maybe 20 minutes - most were 5 minute waits. Ideal with three little princesses. We enjoyed the pool everyday. Last time I worked out everyday on vacation and gained 6 pounds. This time I didn't work out and thought I gained about 10 pounds to come home and find out I only gained 3, ( go figure ) and that was at night after eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. This morning it was only 2 pounds. I really find it hard eating away on vacation. I do not get sick ... so I have to pay attention and make the best choices I can. Overall I am happy with how I did. Still my scale is still higher than I want it to be. I am going to truly work at getting back to my goal weight and work at finding my caloric *sweet spot* for maintaining. I really haven't done that -since I reached goal - I am DETERMINED to get back to goal and maintain my goal weight. I have decided to allow myself a 5 pound weight fluctuation from goal. I know that weight fluctuation is normal. So as long as I am 147 or lower I am OK with that. My goal is 142. I was going to try to go lower but I need to maintain my 142 first. I am stressed over these gas prices and everything else that is on the rise. I'll keep playing lotto it is crazy - but seriously... I realized that this stress has lead to some of my grazing and weight gain. We are getting a kitten today. I think Cece (????) you talked about wanted to go to the fridge one night but the cat was sleeping and you didn't want to disturb the kitty. He he he. Anyway - we are getting a kitten tomorrow we named him Tucker - he is orange and white and adorable! OK now onto business ... Highest weight - 250.5 Lowest weight - 139 Goal weight - 142 Current weight - 150 Up / down from previous weigh in - + 8 Quote * Never, never, never give up. Winston Churchill Make a plan ... and put it into action! You Can Do This! Keep Your Eyes On the prize! have a terrific week, hugs, Britt

WELCOME BACK, BRITT!!! I didn't know if you would be back from vacation and ready to post today so I started the thread but you are welcome to it next week!!!! I congratulate you on not gaining more than 2 or 3 pounds while away and I'll bet those extra pounds are gone tomorrow! I hope Tucker fits right into the family quickly! I need to heed my own advice and get my cat on my lap every night!! Train Tucker to jump in yours every night! Speaking of laps, isn't it NICE to actually have one???? WOW! With my panni, I hardly had any legs sticking out but now my "giant" Min Pin is able to sit comfortably in my lap in the car. We have missed you, Britt!!! CeCe

Britt, If you can train Tucker to jump in front of the fridge and hiss, you might become the Cat Whisperer and have a whole new career! Just think of the number of women who would love to train their cats to prevent them from getting to the fridge!!! You would make MILLIONS and have your own tv show and go on book tours!!! Hey, I put 2 photos of myself in bikinis on my fridge door thinking that would prevent me from looking in there every 2 minutes but I just don't notice them anymore! Maybe I should post an enlarged BEFORE photo on the front to scare me from opening the door!!! Once Tucker is trained, can you send him down here to train my Bogey or my dogs?! Britt, I am MORE than thrilled with my torso PS. In my wildest dreams I never thought I would look this good. I just have to protect my investment through better eating choices for the rest of my life! CeCe

Hello Girls, I am back from my Disney World vacation (I may have seen you there, Britt!!) and feel so wonderful and refreshed and ready to get back to my life!! It has given me a new outlook and I am now ready to start on a low-carb plan. I'm not sure I can do the South Beach or Atkins (tried those before) but I think if I stick to 25% carbs, 25% fat, and 50% protein (on a 1200-calorie plan), I may be able to handle that. Is that too much protein (is there such a thing for us as "too much protein"????)? I haven't taken my diuretics the entire time I was gone, and my legs are paying for it now. My eating was not too bad - actually got to eat at Planet Hollywood! - and I walked 16,000 miles (well, not really). My weight this morning was 200!!!! But I know it's only fluid, so back on my fluid pills I went this morning. Within a week it should be back to the 180s-190s. Seems everyone is having the same ups and downs as me, that makes me feel that I am not the only one fighting this battle. I want to stick to what I've done for the past 18 months but somehow it just seems to fly out the window! But now I am determined!! So look out!! Here are my current stats: Weight day of surgery: 312.4 Weight today: 200.4 Total weight loss: 112.4 Current BMI: 33.2 It's OK cause I'm gonna be working on it this week!! Hope everyone has a great week, Deidrah

Welcome back, Deidrah, Glad you had a great time on your vacation and are feeling renewed. Why did you leave off your diuretic - not wanting to have to pee every 5 minutes at Disney World? I'm sure once you go back on it you will lose pounds within a day but I'll bet your doctor would fuss at you for stopping it!!! I can't seem to go extremely low carb either so try what you've mentioned for a couple of weeks and see how your body reacts. Do drink plenty of fluids though to make it easier on your kidneys! Keep reporting in so we can hear how it's working! CeCe
