It's Monday - Weekly Check -in
WTG Corinna!!!!!! I wish I had such good news to report... my scale has moved down this week from last week, but still not numbers that I want to report... uuugggghhhhh!!! I am getting back on track, but my son just left Saturday and all has been crazy during the past two weeks....
Hopefully next week I can report a nice loss along with my hometown Red Wings winning the Cup!!!! We shall see!!!! We are up 3 games to 1 right now and in the 3rd period f game 5.... wooo hoo..... Today is a home game too..... Of course I will post if/when we win.....
HUGs to All,
Shawn M.
Shawn,
How was the home game? Did your team win? Hope so!
Shawn, I know the past 2 weeks have been crazy with your son home and all the special events but I just wanted to share that sometimes the hardest part for me is the time right after things settle down. In the past and even now, that's when I "mess up." It's like it's a letdown and I have to go back to my regular, dull routine and I just want to rebel and keep living the exciting, devil may care, eat this eat that way I was! Or, sometimes I was VERY good when people were visiting and ate healthy and well and when they left, I would pig out because I'd felt deprived while I was cooking and serving them great things! So, Shawn, since we are so much alike, I hope you are not feeling any of these feelings and tendencies I just described! Don't allow yourself too much time to be alone and unoccupied. Keep your hands and mind busy so that you aren't thinking of food and take the kids out for long walks to enjoy the nice weather! You will be reporting falling numbers from that scale soon if you remember how capable and strong you are! YOU CAN DO IT and ONLY YOU CAN DO IT!

Well the game was great!!! We did end up losing but we went into triple overtime.... I couldn't even stay up to watch the end of the game... We are away in Pittsburgh for the next game.... I so hope we bring home the cup though... We are up 3 games to 2.... GO WINGS!!!!!!
Anyway.... I have been doing pretty good since they all left... been having my protein shakes, my viatmins and doing all the things I should be doing (except exercising).... I need to get off my butt and move, but I just don't have the energy... I am due to have my bloodwork done, so maybe that will show me why I have been dragging so much.... I just can't explain it...
but my diet is much better now that they house is empty... well, minus the hubby and 4 kids... LOL.... When the older kids are home I am constantly baking or cooking or doing something special with butter or whipping cream or sugar for them... it just a horrible situation... now that they are gone that stuff is done and I am back to my protien and my veggies (hold the butter and sugar).... I can see the scale going down already, I am just too ashamed at how much I gained the past couple of weeks to even post... but I will soon, because I will be moving on down.........
Thanks so much for the support... I am off to bed now.... Chat with you soon...
HUGS,
Shawn M.
I was off yesterday and got all my flowers planted. I could barely move last night but I was so glad to get it done. We were out of town this weekend for a baseball tournament and though I didn't do to bad I did gain a pound this week. I'm having a terrible time with sweets. I'm going to step up my exercise and stay away from sweets this week.
Everyone have a fabulous week

With your being out of town and probably eating out, I wouldn't sweat that one pound. It's fluid retention! I'm doing better on my sweets again and feeling fewer cravings too. Now, I'm still eating sweets, it's just FRUIT! I am eating some major watermelon and strawberries and pluots and............. YUM!
When your flower beds look the nicest, take some photos and put them on your profile. That goes for everyone! With my surgeries, we got a later start on our flower beds this year but they should look decent in a couple of months! Still, we are not master gardeners! We used to go all out but I hate WEEDS so I "converted" some of my flower beds to lawn!
Have a great week with no aches and lots of exercise, Deb!

Corinna,
Thanks so much for starting this thread yesterday! I was at my computer at 6 am intending to do so after I made my strength training plan for my class and then forgot!!!! I was so busy yesterday that it was late last night before I got online and remembered! It was good to see you had put something up! AND, a big drumroll and congrats on your loss!!! You are SO on track and strong now! I'm so inspired by and happy for you! Keep strong - keep saying no to temptation and keep doing what is working for you!!! I can't imagine cutting out fruit altogether but if you start feeling a craving for something sweet, try a small piece of fruit first and see if that gets you through. I know some fruits are lower on the GI, so choose one of those! Hope you getting some good veggies in if you aren't eating the fruit! YEA, Corinna! Get familiar with that hotel gym! Are you in Vancouver for a singing job? Someone asked about your career these days so give us an update on that too when you get a chance! We'd love to hear!
My food choices were good most of the day yesterday! I had my usual protein powder, yogurt, fruit breakfast and went to the gym and chiropractor. Then, after a quick change, a friend and I drove to Williamsburg to eat lunch and shop. We sat outside at a restaurant that a famous chef owns. We've eaten there many times but I have to say my friend and I were not impressed yesterday. We then shopped and walked. I bought 3 tops and a light overblouse that is gorgeous.
I didn't get home until after 6:30 and my hubby was very hungry and was contemplating going to get something for himself. I had planned a spinach salad with some grilled turkey tenderloin (I had grilled the night before) but he was wanting something RIGHT THEN so we went out for Thai. He ate his and the rest of my chicken Pad Thai (even though I spice mine up a lot more!) so I don't even have leftovers but that's all right! I was afraid the noodles and MSG would make my weight rise and it did but I didn't hit 130 like I thought I would!!! So, here's my stats:
Beginning Weight: 245.25
This Week: 129.50
About the same or up just a little from last week
Total Loss: 115.75
BMI: 22.2

Hi Everyone,
Great job for all who lost or maintained, and good luck to all who need to get it back under control. I did pretty well this week, only really overate once, and did I pay for it!! I think I had my first dumping episode over it and am not willing to go through that again.
Still at same weight,183 so no loss or gain. I'll take it. I didn't have a chance to exercise because of work. I have been working for 10 days straight, and boy I can't wait for the weekend!!
