Weekly Weigh In week of 5/26/08
Shawn,
I see we've gone from Glamor Girl to Golf Girl on the avatar! Your post today sounds very happy and it makes me happy to read it! I remember the last time you went golfing with your mom you sounded happy too. You need to play more golf! From what I understand though, golfing is very expensive! It's so great that you got to go with your mom, your hubby and your son. Was his wife able to come home on leave with him or is he alone? I know the memories you are making during this leave will help him through his upcoming dreaded assignment.
Good job on having just a little fudge!!! Please don't go look for the No Sugar Added Klondikes! They may tempt you! I bought some Brown Sugar Strawberries today. I've heard they are very sweet and better than the "regular" strawberries. They certainly are more expensive. They are good but I think I'll spend my money on the Mt. Ranier Cherries. When are those coming out? I LOVE them. I usually find them at Sam's. Since they come from Washington state, they have to be shipped totally across the country but I want my cherries!!!! I haven't had any watermelon today but I will have some later!
You are too busy to get down and out these days, Shawn! I'm glad! Let's keep looking over each other's shoulders so we stay on track!!! We both need to remember that one misstep doesn't mean a wasted day. We can get back on track with the next bite we take! WE ARE STRONG!!! WE CAN DO THIS!

Actually my new avatar is from Memorial Day... Look at the red, white and blue stars on my head... LOL..... But I did wear that same hat today golfing... The difference was it was 85 degrees on Memorial day and 63 degrees today.... That is Michigan for ya... LOL....
My son's wife is home on leave with him... I have been getting my belly rubs in for my grandbaby.... He hasn't kicked for me yet, but I will get my time with him this fall, I am sure of it....
His wife doesn't golf, so my hubby got to go with us... They gave us a great deal on our golfing rate because my son is in the Army... but yes, golfing is very expensive that is why we don't go often... hubby hasn't been in 5 years and last time I went my mom paid for me.... I was shocked how much they cut off for our rate.. and then when we stopped for lunch after the first 9 holes they only charged us for half our meal.... They were so generous.... We did leave them a nice tip before we left....
Well, I gotta go check my facebook stuff and my myspace page, then I am off to bed.... I will try and check in tomorrow, but no promises.... OH... I did make my home made chili.... wooo hooo... I am eating it now.... High fiber, high protein.... Yeah Me!!!!
Hope you have a good day tomorrow....
I think I am going to try and get a nap in after the kids head off to school... LOL...
HUGS,
Shawn M.
HI Everyone,
I had a pretty good week. I actually was on good behavior and didn't do any extra snacking, if I felt like I wanted something for a snack, I ate a protein bar or SF pudding. Still no luck in planning meals, but am making decent choices.
I really didn't go anywhere this weekend, so I wasn't tempted by the extra food everyone usually has on holidays. I also bought myself a bike and started riding each evening. It actually feels great!!

Phyllis,
Great job - you lost another pound!!!! I bought several packages of the SF prepared pudding and I do like them. Sadly, sometimes I'll look right past them and choose something I have no business getting into! So, great job on choosing healthy snacks!!!
Are you riding your bike alone? Are there any good paths or trails near you? We have it made here. We have to ride through the subdivision to get to a big road but once there, there's a pedestrian/bike bridge over that road and then there's a wide sidewalk for bikers. We ride that to the park and then the park has all kinds of trails back into the woods. Sometimes we take our bikes to a national park too. I love bike riding and I hope you enjoy your bike to the fullest!! I can't wait to get back to teaching Spinning! I miss it and while I enjoy taking Spinning classes, I love creating the playlists for my own classes!
Have a great week, Phyllis, and keep up the great work!

Hi guys! sorry I am late.
We got moved into our temporary home this weekend, now I don't have a computer for evening use. It is end of month and very busy at work so I have to steal a moment when I can.
I don't have a scale yet either so I don't know my weight. I do know that my clothing is fitting looser today. I wore a pair of size 14 pants yesterday that were quite baggy where they previously weren't. I had a great eating week so I think the scale moved down. I will let you know how much as soon as a scale is purchased.
Onward and downward!
hugs,
Valorie
