Weekly Weigh In week of 4/21
You betcha! Back at it. I have to get myself back on a regular routine. It was hard this morning and it is hard whenever co-workers come by my desk to offer condolences. But, I am getting through it. So far, no tears today.
My stats:
Beginning weight: 349 highest
last weigh in: 201.4- after a backslide
Today: 196.00
Loss: 5.4 lbs (2 weeks)
I am very happy with this. I had one day of "pity me" eating then back on track. I am PROUD of myself, honestly and truly! Can't say that too often.
"Question for the week ..
When you started you probably thought about what life would be like after WLS. Now that you are living it and almost 18 months post op - how do what you *thought* and the *reality* compare?"
Well, when I started this journey, I thought I would be at goal by 1 year and that life in general would be "perfect." We all know this just doesn't happen. I am not at goal. I have had to "work" for every lost pound and am still working today and will continue to work for the rest of my life. The reality is.....yes I have lost weight and have learned to eat right and to exercise. But, my life is still my life. Good and bad, happy and sad, this didn't change because my body size decreased. I am healthier, happier and more confident. I am not perfect and life is not perfect nor will it ever be. Not even if I lose down to a size "x" or to 110 lbs. Like Britty said, I am a work in progress and I learn something new every single day.

I am in hiding this week.... I don't understand it..... I stayed on track all week except for one day.... grrrrrrrrr... I don't even want to report my weight this week.... maybe next week I will.... I think my cycle is due too and I have a lot of water gain.... I sure do hope that is the case....

Hi Everyone,
Work's been crazy, so haven't had much time to enjoy the warmer weather. In a couple weeks I am planning to buy a bike and spend more time out there, gotta stop sitting in the house. I had this surgery to get out of the house and i plan to start doing it!!
I understand about not believing you are a size 4 Britt. I'll probably never get that small, but I just bought new shorts and got a size 12. Haven't been that size since junior high, so I am cool with that.
My weight is still fluctuating between 182-186, but I have been snacking too much and on the wrong stuff, I'm working on it.
Starting weight 349
Last week = 182
This week = 183
Loss this week = +1
Total loss = 166

I ate with reckless abandoment during my working vacation. I gained three pounds and am at 140 this week. I see my bariatric surgeon tomorrow. The last time I saw him (many months ago) he told me that I was done losing weight. I told him that I was going to prove him wrong. I'll be darn, if he didn't prove me wrong! I think I am exactly the same weight as the last time I saw him. Of course, I did get down to 132, but couldn't stay there.
I finally went back to the gym this morning after being away for what seems like months. I don't remember when I mangled my fingers with the hedge trimmers, but it sure changed my life. It's good to get back to my routine now. I missed it!

Going back the same is OK - you can always prove hime wrong at your next visit at 2 years - - right?
I *wanted* to get to 1*3* something and realize that my body is fine and content at 140 / 142 - I THINK I'd have to STRUGGLE to maintain it -and who wants to do that?

I weighed in 4 ounces less than my last visit! He said that I lost more than expected and was happy that I maintained it since my last visit. Before I left work, I changed clothes and put on skimpy shorts and a light weight shirt just to reduce a pound or two of clothes! I know, I'm obsessed.
I got out of square dancing! My stress level decreased significantly when dinner lasted three hours and the square dancing instructor got mad and left! She was tired of waiting for our group to come out. I put a few new pics on my profile---but no square dancing pics!
