Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was great. Some shopping, some dancing and a lot of catching up with friends and family.
Last Week: 209
This Week: 205
Loss: 4
Total loss 137
Of course the 4 lbs are the leftovers from my experience with the 5DPT. I really don't consider it a loss. Maybe this week will show a real loss. I am still reaching for Onederland. I am determined and focused.
Hugs,
Valorie
Hello November buddies,
Well, after months of making bad food choices, I have decided to re-commit myself to the new lifestyle I had begun 16 months ago. Although I read the posts almost every day, I was too embarrassed and disappointed in myself to even begin posting. I have stayed within a 5-10 lb range, between 185 and 195. I do have a problem with lower leg edema, since before WLS, but it requires me to be on four diuretics a day, along with an abnormally high amount of potassium. So that helps to keep the weight down but not by much.
I made a decision last Monday, after reading Valorie's entries, along with some others, to recommit to this lifestyle and let it work like it should. I have to eat foods high in potassium, which is good and healthy ones. I joined a new gym and have hired a personal trainer. I have had one session with her and love it!! I will do two sessions a week with her, along with 2-3 cardio sessions in between. I am totally committed to this new program and want to do the best I can. The support of this board is so great that I know I can keep this up, with your help, of course!
With all that being said, here are my stats for this week:
Starting weight = 312.4
Last week = 194.0
This week = 186.6
Loss this week = 7.6
Total loss = 125.8
Current BMI = 30.9
Thanks to everyone for their encouragement and support, even when you didn't know you were giving it to me!
Good luck to everyone this week!

Deidrah, Good for you! We all know how hard it is to get back on track! I think Valorie's comments really helped a lot of us. That's the beauty of this support group and why it's important to post. You may never realize how your words have helped someone else, so keep posting!
Congratulations on a great week.

Thanks so much, CeCe! It's nice to know there are friends out there that I can count on. It's such a tremendous help for me. Somehow I knew you guys were always out there, but it took a lot for me to reach out. Now I wondered why I waited so long!!
It's nice to be back!! Hope to have many more successful posts!!
Deidrah
Deidrah,
I am so proud of you for re-commiting yourself! It takes courage to know that you have been going down the wrong path and to make sure you find your way back is a struggle. Joining the gym was the BEST thing I have done for myself since WLS. Bet you will feel that way too. The personal trainers are expensive but they are so worth it to get you going. I did 12 sessions with mine, 2 days per week like you, and now I feel confident when I work out by myself. I have even gotten a friend of mine to come with me a couple days per week and I am her PT! I work the heck out of her. Good for her and for me! I told her I was going to start charging the PT fees soon so she had better get her sessions in now while I am still free.
Thank you for letting me know that my posts have helped you. I am humbled by you words. I always look to others on the board for inspiration. Would never have believed I, too could inspire. Again, thank you.
Keep up the good workouts and keep the carbs in check. You will see so much improvement in how you feel. Hopefully the workouts will help the edema too. Let us know if you have a bad day. Everyone here is so supportive. We help each other daily.
