5 day pouch test
Today is day one of the 5dpt for me. I decided to give it a try and see just where my pouch is these days. I plan on following the rules to the tee. Sunday seemed like a good start day so I will be done by the weekend and hopefully have less cravings. We will see.
I am going to make the pumpkin soup and the ham and cheese soup. I hope they taste as good as they sound!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

The sausage and pumpkin soup is YUMMO! The only thing I would change about this recipe is the sour cream. I would just garnish each bowl with a spoon of sour cream. When you add it into the hot pot of soup, it looks sort of curdled. It tastes great, but the appearance suffers.
I also made the split pea with ham. I haven't tried it yet but it looks great too.
I think these soups will help me make it through 2 days of liquids.

Valorie
Good Luck Valorie... I don't think I could do it.... Actually I probably could if I HAD to, but I don't want to... LOL... Actually I should probably give it a go one of these days to get myself back on track.... We shall see...
Well anyway... best of luck to you... can't wait to hear how it turns out for you....
HUGs,
Shawn
Day 2 and all is well. I had a protein shake this morning and a yogurt with protein as a snack.(I hope this is ok, the rules didn't say anything about yogurt) I brought some of the sausage and pumpkin soup and also some progresso, carb monitor, chicken cheese enchilada soup to work with me for lunch. I do ok as long as I can eat something with a spoon. I don't think I could make it on just drinks.
I did not like the split pea soup. I should have known better. Split pea just isn't my thing. I should have stuck with my first choice, the ham and cheese soup. Hubby liked it though and ate it all! Yep, the whole pot. I think it was supposed to be 12 servings.
I am looking forward to day 3! Soft proteins, yummo. I have my food all planned out. I swear it helps just thinking about it.
Hang in there. You know you can do it. Look at where we started after surgery. 5 days is NOTHING compared to what we have been through.
Hugs,
Valorie
